Futurama FTW
Sep. 8th, 2010 08:51 pmI'm a long time Futurama fan. I watched it premier when I was in college (the first time) and I still love it today. I found this season to have its highs and lows like most of the seasons, but I've been impressed that the quality has improved since the movies (though I only watched one). While many people have expressed criticism over the quality of the show since its return, I've been very happy.
I love it. It's smart and fun at the same time, and I adore the characters. I haven't really talked much about it, but I've been watching all summer and I get excited when Thursday rolls around just so I get a new episode. Episodes are done for now, but I'm looking forward to the holiday ep in November and new eps in 2011.
I am so invested in the characters and I am a diehard Fry/Leela shipper. It seems weird, it being a cartoon and all, but there is something sweet and real about their relationship (or lack thereof) that I keep smiling whenever the show focuses on them.
But this season has really been the season of The Professor, hasn't it? He's been hilarious. I love how they keep referencing how Fry is his uncle. I always loved that part.
A quote from one of the episodes I really liked this season:
Professor: Behold, a time traveling machine.
Bender: Time? I can't go back there!
Professor: Ah, but this machine only goes forward in time. That way you can't accidentally change history or do something disgusting like sleep with your own grandmother.
Fry: I wouldn't want to do that again.

Date: 2010-09-09 01:58 am (UTC)And Fry and Leela? They had me a bit confused. They seemed to be together and then not. So I think they are in that weird place where they like each other and are doing some little things like dating, but haven't really taken it anywhere, aside from the "in other bodies" lovefest. *shudder*
