Oh wow. Lysacek won gold. I am amazed. I was watching with my mom and we saw the results come in. I swore that Plushenko would get it!

I was a little disappointed with some of the competitors sportsmanship and I think some of the skaters were underscored. But it was wonderful to watch and I normally am not into this kind of thing.

First US Gold Medalist in Figure Skating since 1988. Nice job!

Not that it changes anything, but sorry about spoiling anyone. You all know how strict I am about spoilers. I thought West Coasters were seeing everything live since the games are on the West Coast.

You know, for those of us on the west coast, for whom this event doesn't even begin airing for another hour, and who were looking forward to it -- seeing the results first thing upon loading the flist is a real disappointment. Out of courtesy to avoid spoiling anyone else, maybe you could put that under a spoiler cut.

I'm sorry. I didn't even know there was a West Coast lag. I thought the East Coast was the one behind since I had to stay up late to watch this. We've only been getting recaps or having to stay up extra late to see anything. I'll go ahead and put it under a cut.

Thank you. I think others will definitely appreciate that, if they are avoiding results. Unfortunately, we are getting everything on tape delay, even the evening events they could cover live. I don't know why.

That strikes me as so odd. I mean the games are on the West Coast. Why not just show it live? Stuff is wrapping up here like between 11:30-12:30am, depending. Makes no sense to me they would delay it in its current time zone.

Anyway, I do apologize for it and it's under a cut, though I know that doesn't help you.

*hug* I'm sorry for being grumpy about it. I know you didn't mean to spoil.

I was SO excited for Evan; it's freaking about time, because he has worked SO hard! :)
I definitely think Weir should have gotten on the podium, like whoa. And Plushenko was not a happy camper ...:/
lol

Weir was pretty good. He didn't deserve the marks he got.

I am so glad for the Japanese guy and Evan!

I thought West Coasters were seeing everything live since the games are on the West Coast.

That would be logical. Sadly NBC KNOWS NO LOGIC. So they delay BOTH the daytime coverage until primetime, AND then further delay the evening events instead, for us.

*hisses at NBC*

I don't get this. Of course, these are the same people who fired Conan so...

I have heard that the NBC feed sucks - I was watching it Tuesday night and noticed they were showing qualifications for snowboard cross, whereas in Canada, everybody already knew who won that.

I'm happy for Lysacek (and gleeful that Plushenko did not win) - a little sad my own favourite didn't win, but Lysacek was fantastic.

Who was your favorite?

It was a great competition. I was really impressed. I disagree with a few calls, but overall it was satisfying :)

Patrick Chan. It wasn't his best, but he still has so much more ahead of him.

I was very happy to see Lysacek win! Patrick Chan is nineteen, so he's got lots of time. And Plushenko is a person I have always found creepy and off-putting.

Word. And that Japanese guy was SO HAPPY to come third, so I was glad for him. :)

What a model athlete that Daisuke was. I mean, the guy was just happy no matter what. And if he hadn't messed up? I think he would have either had gold or silver.

He was the first male skater from Japan to EVER get an Olympic medal. The guy was on cloud nine, and I bet the entire country was rejoicing. So nice to see! :)

I know, which makes it all the sweeter. I am really happy for him :)

Chan is going to be amazing. You can see it. I think he's going to be a force to be reckoned with very soon.

Yay! I did feel a little sad for the Russian guy but it was very close and the American deserved it for the overall quality of his performance. Great competition.
