Been feeling a bit sad, so I figured I would make some art a little on the more melancholy side. Dean/Jo from 5x10 "Abandon All Hope." A few icons and two banners.

Jo came back in season 5? I'd like to have seen that. Yay!

I wasn't a fan of the Roadhouse or how Jo and Ellen were introduced on the show, but I always felt that they abandoned those characters too soon--just as they were becoming a part of the history of the show.

Yup. Ellen and Jo came back for a couple of eps this season. They just had a very sad ending, but they were amazing while they were on. Ellen was awesome as always and Jo was great actually.

I always loved Ellen but was never really sold on Jo until they wrote her out in BUABS. But when they brought her bacl this season she was much more mature and was on the road hunting with her mom. Very cool.

And they handled her thing with Dean with dignity too.

I was the opposite. I really disliked Ellen at first, but I didn't mind Jo. It was mostly their story I really disliked, though. I'm glad the writers got over that and showed them working together. :-)

I agree, though, that Jo really came into her own in BUABS. Before that, I don't think anyone, including the writers or the actress (not her fault since she didn't write it) knew who the character was. But in BUABS I felt like I knew who she was and understood her and at that point, I could have seen her as a contact for Dean and Sam.

You're one of the few people I know, then, who didn't mind Jo. I was indifferent to her. I just didn't appreciate the obvious forced writing they tried between her and Dean. They had chemistry - I think everyone has good chemistry on this show - but the writers were pushing the romance angle too hard without just letting the characters be themselves. Of course, I think that stemmed from the writers not knowing who Jo was. They couldn't seem to decide whether she was soft or hard or a sister type or a romantic interest. I felt bad for the actresses.

They finally got what they wanted to do in BUABS. So I was sad to see her go.

I didn't start shipping them until later. I'm still really a gen person, but my romantic side has its weak moments.

What are you into right now? I'm always sad to now you don't watch SPN anymore, but are you enjoying something else now? I know you were into singers there for a bit.

I'm not really into anything much anymore, which I'm sad about. I have shows I watch, but I'm not really actively participating in any fandoms. Nothing really interests me like that anymore, but also I cannot stand the "love it or leave it" type of attitude in so much of fandom now. lol What ever happened to critical thinking and analysis? hehe I'm an old fart, I guess. :-)

The David Cook fandom is not like that, thank goodness, but, while I still love him, I'm not as into that as I used to be.

Also...the icon you have as your default here. I noticed it's smaller than I made it. Did you make it smaller or did it have problems loading?

If you wanted it smaller I have no problem with that, but if you wanted it normal size, I want to make sure you get it.

Just wanted to check :)
