I was watching SPN last night when I was startled they were promoting the show with a promo for the new season. I've been spoiler free, aside from some casting, so it was a surprise to me. Only ten seconds, but it was enough for me to make connections and put two and two together.

I saw a link for it online so I thought it would be no big deal for me to watch it again since I'd seen it last night. Sadly, it was a different promo and now I'm more spoiled. Oh well. I knew I couldn't avoid the promos forever. I don't tend to consider them spoilers anyway, because they are on air, but my problem is once I see them I get curious and want to look online for more information. It's going to take some resolve for me not to do it, but I'm terrible at fighting that sort of thing :(

So on that note, I have a question for anyone that saw last night's 20 second promo. If you've only seen the 10 second one, don't click below as it has some casting spoilers.

I saw Jo. I knew Jo was coming back, but torturing Sam? What happened? Is she a villain now? I might not have been the hugest Jo fan when she was on, but I liked her enough and I certainly didn't hate her. I'm all for some good tension, but I hope she doesn't end up an enemy to Sam and Dean, or that Sam ends up being evil or something. I'm just hoping that there is a misunderstanding here. Sam did just let out Lucifer. I assume not too many people will be happy with him. Of course, I'm not a writer and it's not my story so worrying is pointless. Does anyone know what episode she is coming back in?

While I think it's actually very likely that members of the Hunter community will ultimately turn against Sam and Dean, I find it difficult to believe that Jo would torture someone.

It's really hard to tell at this point what that means. There are all kinds of scenarios: Sam's subconscious brings up Jo due to the fact that once again Sam has been manipulated by demonic forces and he hallucinates the torture, Jo does indeed turn against Sam because she feels he's been overtaken by the demon blood addiction (if she even knows about that), Jo is convinced that Sam has been possessed again so she's trying to get at whoever is controlling Sam, Jo herself has been possessed, etc.

All I know is I can't wait for the new season! :)

Yeah, I think many Hunters are going to pull a Gordon and turn on them. I was just hoping that their old allies would be able to reunite with them eventually. So I'm hoping this is a bump along the way, but I'm prepared for it not to be. I just kinda like Jo and would hate to see her become an antagonist, you know?

Either Sam is hallucinating again, or Jo has pulled a Gordon. And really, who can blame her? If she hears from demons that Sam is the one who released lucifer, then she might try torturing him to find out how to kill Lucifer. I don't think it'd be torture just for torture's sake.

Jo's back in 5x02, which means that promo had shots from the first two episodes which means AHHHH I'M SO READY FOR SEPTEMBER. XD

I'd sort of assume that the hunters are now after Sam in full force. Not only did he open the gates to hell and unleash the demons, but now he has colluded with a demon and freed Lucifer, and I'm pretty sure they won't care why. *g* I think Jo is probably a good guy; they are going to be after Sam, because the secret is out, and he's demon-tainted. That's my prediction.

Here's what we do know for sure: Jo returns in ep 5x02, there is also another returning character in this episode who you don't see in the clip, but I wont say who in case you don't want to know.

My theory: Sam is hallucinating. He is prob still going through demon blood withdrawals and maybe after seeing Jo at the beginning of the episode, maybe Sam's guilty conscious brings her into the hallucination? OR maybe Jo sees Sam going through withdrawal (or drinking blood) and thinks he's possessed. She's already been through it once with Sam, so maybe she calls in the calvary?

All I know is that I don't want her to become another 'Gordon'. Surely Dean will bust in and save Sam and clear up the misunderstanding! If Jo is against the Winchesters...well Dean really did bring it on himself with the way he treated her in BUABS. Though if we go by how Jo was in BUABS she was all prepared to help Dean help Sam, so why the sudden change in attitude towards Sam? GAH! Can the show just come back already!!!!!

I kinda assumed she thought he was possessed or something.

I sort of hope so, for kinda evil reasons. It just has the potential to be so all together awkward and funny. It won't be, I'm sure, it'll be serious and angsty. But I can picture it this way:
Jo: So....not possessed?
Sam: No!
Jo: But what about the...?
Dean bursts in, looks around, is shocked.
Dean: What the hell is going on?
Sam: just a misunderstanding.
Jo:....aren't you supposed to be dead?
