Okay. I'm going to admit it. While my preference is gen Castiel - omg love Castiel - I think there is this small itty bitty part of me that likes Castiel/Anna. Not in the hot-bodies-bed-breaking physical way, but an understated deep fondness "We have history" kind of way.

So yeah.

I realized I don't have icons with both of them together. This must be remedied.

Well, I've liked them since Heaven and Hell. On the Head of the Pin sold me on their scenes together.

I thought maybe I liked them because I didn't like Dean/Anna. Bow I like them because I believe they really care for each other, even if Cas betrayed her and even if we don't really know how angels feel.

Agreed. It was that moment in Heaven and Hell when Anna kissed Dean and Castiel turned his head with this angsty look on his face that made me go "Hmmm..." See??

I'm the same way. I love the history they seem to share, but the whole idea of angel sex seems like blasphemy in some way to me. Also, I like how Anna can be there for Castiel now that he's a rebel angel. ;-)

Yeah, angel sex? That would have to be crack fic for me ;) But they do seem to have this really deep complex somethign together, something I like to think of a love we can't understand. Just like Sam and Dean have a strong familial love. :)

Man, after thinking about it there are so many interesting things you could do with the Castiel/Anna dynamic --even if you pretty much forgo sex. I do think, in some cases, you can have a bond that's so intense that sex isn't really even necessary.

After all, Anna became human and learned to embrace and trust in her emotions. I wonder if that could have, in turn, altered that way she sees Castiel and their past history together. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's the only angel, that we know of, she's tried to get to look past the blinders and think for himself.

Now I want to go find some fanfic featuring these two.... ;)

Oh wow, I never considered that angle. If the show doesn't explore how their perceptions have changed due to the states they have been, I hope fanfic does. That could be amazing.

There is so much to explore between them. He even betrayed her and it killed him to do it. You could see it. Just like it was eating at him to betray Dean.

Ooh, it just occurred to me that it's really fascinating that Castiel's superiors would ask an angel, whose greatest asset is his unfailing loyalty to commit acts of betrayal. Now, of course, they wouldn't necessarily see it that way. They are in their opinion simply asking him to remain loyal. They wanted Dean to do what they say when they said it and Anna was just a liability to them. However, from a character and/or storytelling standpoint it's really thought provoking.

Because he understands loyalty so well he feels the weight of betrayal heavily. It's actually WORSE when he's the one doing the betraying. In that it's worse for HIM to betray than be betrayed. (wasn't sure I was being clear *g*) Poor Cas...*pats him*

I know! He so so so very loyal - and I still think he hasn't disobeyed and all the other angels are - that being placed in a position where he would have to ebtray someone despite how much he values loyalty must kill him. You can really see it in his scenes. He just seems so burdened. I think that is why there is so much intensity and drive in that icon you have. He knows in that moment that he going back to his deep sense of loyalty to what he feels is right.

I wonder what will happen with Castiel if they have him start to truly "feel" the full power of his emotions? Angels obviously do have emotions I just think that they've been forced to numb them or simply don't know how to process them properly. That right there is a goldmine of good character development to work with throughout the Apocalypse storyline.

Oooh, and can you imagine what the interaction between Castiel and Anna or Castiel and Dean would be like at that point? WOW. What an amazing moment when he realizes just the sort of doubts and fears that drove Anna to fall. Or when he realizes just how much Dean's lack of self-worth hurts to watch. You know, it'd be a CRIME if they didn't do something with this on the show itself. Personally, I think there's a good chance they will. Maybe not in the way we think but a similar take.

And that's fine if you aren't into them. I think it's awesome that many of us can totally be happy for people who are into things that we aren't :)

I've got a serious soft spot for Dean/Anna done right, and I have much love for Dean and Castiel friendship, but yeah, I'm with you on loving Castiel and Anna, and wanting to know more about what they were to each other in the past.

Erin Nicole put together a wallpaper of them which I have much love for, mainly because it's exactly the way I imagine they were in that past that I want to know more about. And because I'm me, I will now share linkage with you.

I confess that I dig your confession... Castiel/Anna is a definitely a possible and likeable match. As non-sexual partners of sorts. The angels seem to remain asexual non-physical creatures in my head. Castiel mostly, but Anna too despite the incident with Dean. Hmm.

Totally in love with your icon. Favorite Castiel icon I've come across so far.
