My Bloody Valentine 3D?

Okay, flist. I didn't get to see it in the movie theater, but I know it's out on DVD. Is it worth it?

I don't mind horror movies, but I am not a huge fan of slasher flicks. That's not to say I haven't watched slasher flicks (I've seen some of the 80's classics), but normally I am more of a psychological horror fan. But I was going to give it a try for Jensen Ackles just like I was going to give Friday the 13th a try for Jared Padalecki.

Please don't spoil me - though I think someone did on my flist inadvertantly *sigh* - but I just want some honest opinions if you think it's worth it or not.

I saw it, and being a horror/slasher fan, I enjoyed it. If you haven't seen it, I would rent it first, in case you're disappointed - it would be better to rent it and be able to bring it back than to buy it and watch it, completely hate it, and not be able to do anything about it.

I'm the idiot who hates horror films, I mean really hate horror/slasher films...I get squeamish. I got convinced to go see it and I thought it was good, despite the fact that my eyes were closed through half of it. And still being the wimp, I bought the DVD. Let me note, the 3D glasses make it hard to see any colour (in the cinema they had these lightly tinted glasses that look like sunglasses and do not effect the appearance of the film).

I saw it in the theatres, but not in 3D (cuz they're cheap meanies) and I only saw it for Jensen, comforting because I'm squirmish about seeing blood and guts on a giant screen in a big dark public place *shudder*
I dont really mind horror only because I've seen enough 'DVD behind the scenes' features to know how its done. I'm a tiny bit of a horror junkie *ashamed* since 2005, still there are some scary movies I wont ever watch...

Anyway, besides the amount of gore, the plot is good as far as slasher films go. I enjoyed it. And didnt have any nightmares :D

I saw it twice in the theater (once on opening night, both times in 3D), and I bought the special edition on DVD. I liked it. It's way better than Devour, although it's still not a cinematic masterpiece.

It was good. I mean, for a horror movie remake. There's a scene in the beginning with a naked girl running around for about 10m straight wearing nothing but a pair of heels, and I could have done without that, but the gore didn't bother me. I mean, it was gory for the sake of being gory in some spots, but that didn't bother me. And commander_d likes it too.

If you do buy it, I wouldn't waste the money on the so-called special edition. I don't think the special features are worth it. And I would suggest renting it first just to be sure.

Out of the two of them, I think Friday the 13th was better, but I think that's because they had better source material, not because of anything anyone did. So, I bought MBV3D, and I'll be buying F13, too. ;)

OMG the movie is so, SO stupid!!! But hey, what do you expect for a horror flick? :) Jensen is PURDY in it tho :)

I saw it and it's on par with the original. It's a typical slasher movie. If that's not your thing and you still wish to try it for Jensen I'd give it a rent ;)

Unfortunately, I've got mixed views on it. It wasn't terrible but I also didn't enjoy it very much. It's not that I found it too gory or creepy, I just didn't find it all that interesting. Part of it may be because I was spoiled for the ending. Although, I don't mind spoilers at all this is one time that may have hurt my viewing experience. I must admit; however, that without the spoilers I probably still would have guessed how it would end. *shrugs* But that's just me.

I guess my overall reaction is that it's not so bad for a slasher movie but it could have been much better overall.

Jensen is always nice to look at though. :)

I have a varied tolerance for horror movies, I saw MBV in theaters for the 3D specifically, and it really is not terrible. I especially liked the psychological angle, and it IS gory but...let's put it this way- I saw this movie and was OK,and was all set to see F13, but I saw the first 10 minutes at Comic Con and was like "NEVER MIND".

Anyway. You should see it, if only for Jensen.

Was pretty good, actually. Twist at the end that I didn't see coming, but all in all, pretty good. Enjoy!
