*wipes hands* I think I am done errands and work and stuff for the day. I need a break. But knowing me, the workoholic I am, that won't happen.

So I am trying to distract myself with some of my unfinished fan works. Only thing is I can't decide to whether to work on the mystery around Dean getting wings in my wing!fic or work on the mystery of Sam traveling to an AU in the Sam AU fic. I'm pumped to write them both. Decisions! Argh.

What about any of you? Is anyone stuck between two fics?

I am not stuck between fics. I am...well, I am, actually. I haven't really written anything in AGES and there's a few things I want to do.

I am also beta editing for Stargate Summer, and concerned because the writer I drew (I was in the volunteer pool, so I got matched up at the last minute after my first author backed out), is...going to be a lot of work. Which, for 50,000 words is a LOT of work, you know?

The good news is that my writer friends have decided we need a writer's group! So at least I'll have that!

My writing has been nearly nonexistent this spring so I really want to focus on that this summer whether it is original stuff or fanfic. June is dedicated to editing my novel, though. Ugh.

A writer's group? Fantastic! I hope I can network at some point so I can be part of one too.

I'm up for a ten minute timed session. What do you say?

Hmm. Ten minutes? I think i can do that. How does this work?

It'd be best to click on the link. You can set the timer (but NOT for the extreme version. But you have to save what you write onto a different WP. You can't save it on the site.

All right. I've checked this out and I think I'm going to give it a go. it will be good practice for my original stuff since I am devoting June to editing.

You know what? I did that last night and I wrote 583 words in 10 minutes. I think that pretty much proves that I am a massive procrastinator and time waster and there is absolutely no excuse why I shouldn't be writing every day.

Bah. This is a great idea, but I think I'll have to start mine in a few minutes. Apparently, supper will be ready in 3 minutes and there's no way I am starting and stopping LOL

I am constantly stuck in between multiple fics. I have the shortest attention span ever when it comes to writing. I'll think "Ooo! I know what to write next!" and I'll work really hard for like ten or fifteen minutes and then I get burnt out and want to move onto something else. It's very frustrating and probably why I've only ever really managed to write short one-shots...

I do that too, but on a larger scale. I'll get like 40 pages into a fic and then go SHINY and lose my way. This is why I have a hard time finishing things LOL

Is there a short one-shot you can write instead while you try to focus yourself?

I worked on it a little last night, but man. it's way longer than I had expected it to be. I want to move onto other stories in this series, but I *have* to do this one first. I just have to. But it's turning into a sizable story in its own right.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for it :D And I'm loving your icon. It's gorgeous :) And I know the feeling when you just want to get a fic done before you move on to the next. It's frustrating...

Hee. Yes, my self-indulgent Dean wing!fic icons that I had way too much fun making.

Yep, I've got that too. I have this sequel to the short SPN fic I wrote a while back, and I have a much longer idea. I can't decide which to start. Common sense would say do the shorter one first to get it over with. But I'm still stuck.

With me it's mainly time and exhaustion. I like to sit down and devote a good chunk of time to writing. I can't do that right now. I'm sending out resumes and job hunting and still recovering from being sick - it wipes me out.

I would go with whatever fic you'll get more enjoyment out of right now. Sometimes I have to pick the longer over the shorter because my desire just isn't as great with the shorter ones, even if I could finish them quicker and post them faster.

I'm stuck between three fics, but I think I've decided to let the oldest one fizzle a bit longer. I'm not totally sure what the 'monster' is there, and it's also multi-crossover. So, um... it'll take some doing (& I don't have the energy right now). The other two are "easier" but the inspiration just won't come. :(

From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
Inspiration is a fickel thing. Ugh.

I think you made a good call in letting that one sit since you're not sure how to really handle the monster (whatever it is) yet. But that sucks that you can't seem to find any mojho to keep the others going.

*snickers* Quoting Dickens? ;)

Uhm...why not write both fics? *is greedy*

LOL

I'm going to write both. The not-so-cracky wing!fic is for me because I wanted to have some fun and the Sam AU one is mostly for my friend who is a massive Sam fan. But I am enjoying writing both. It just takes forever. I have a bad habit of writing longer fics and they get out of control. Takes me forever LOL

LOL

Yes, only two. I actually have way too many plot bunnies and ideas, so much that I don't know what to do with them. But these are two fics I;ve actually started and I'm at least 25 pages into. I would like to finish one but it's not going to happen any time soon.

Are there ways you can find inspiration? Music helps best with me.
