I am reposting this for the new people on my flist. Hi new people! Let us commense the squee :)

The following is by no means a complete list.

Current Active* Fandoms/Shows:
Supernatural (The BIG one for me right now)
Smallville (My crack/fun show - I include other Supes mythos)

Semi-Active/Interests:
Dark Angel

Non-active Fandoms/Interests:
SG-1 (Still love it, but creatively I'm dry)
Star Wars (But I still love it to pieces)
Final Fantasy X (Awesome story)
X-Files (I miss you, show!)

Casual Shows:
Lost
Harper's Island

(I'm still finishing up Farscape, but I'm not liking it as much as most.)

* I define activity by obsession. The more fannish I am about a show, the more active I am, which means the more likely I'll post art/fic/meta/misc about the show of choice.

I love storytelling. Therefore, I love movies, TV, novels, and the writing process. Now, even though I love all these things, it doesn't mean I am a TV junkie or that I have a huge collection of books and movies. I'm also very picky. But the act of storytelling, epecially with elements of the fantastic, guide my life.

I'm trained in anthropology and history, and have a massive love of mythology. I also have a deep love for science, specially earth science, and I almost went into geology. I've recently discovered I want to be a teacher. I picked anthropology because it's cheating - I get to study everything ;)

I'm one of those annoying truth-seeker people who is always curious and looking for answers. In fandom, I tend to gravitate toward the characters that are idealistic, brainy, awkward, and who are also truth-seekers, except when I fall for the badboy which has been happening more often than not lately. *pointed look at you, Dean and Sawyer*

I always have a fave character for every show, but I tend to love my shows so much that I rarely hate a character. So while I love Dean to pieces on SPN, I also love Sam and Bobby, and John, and Ellen, and OMG, I have fallen for Castiel, too. With SG-1, my faves are Jack and Daniel, but I love Sam and Teal'c. And Cam! And...yeah. GO TEAM! You can apply the same rules to all my shows.

I'm weird with shipping. I have a couple of OTPs but I'm not militant about them. I can handle them with other people as long as I know they are together in the end. So, I'm all for Lois/Clark, Mulder/Scully, Tidus/Yuna, but I don't mind if along the way they are with different characters.

I also don't care for character bashing or pairing bashing. Bela from SPN or Vala from SG-1 might not be my fave characters and while I can be critical of them, I don't like to bash them. I can like Lois/Clark AND Chloe. I loathe Chlois. I can like Sam and Daniel at the same time. But I like to think we can all have our opinions in a respectful way. So I ask the same on my journal, please.

I don't mind slash, but I really can't stand Wincest. I can't slash in SPN either. I used to slash occasionally for SG-1, but I'm no longer a slasher for any fandom.

I do read fanfic, but it's very slow coming right now. Don't take my silence as disinterest - I just suck with time right now. I'll help anyone with ideas, though.

I don't really follow actors and actresses, but have a HUGE crush on Jensen Ackles right now. I am known to lust after Jared Padalecki as well.

I love music. Right now, I'm into Shiny Toy Guns, Muse, Within Temptation, The Rasmus, Kamelot...I have also discovered the joy of classic rock.

I am human, and therefore I tend to read/comment on the LJ's of people who read/comment on mine. This tends to go for fanfic, too. It's not very fair, but like I said it's human and I'm being honest.

I write both for publication and for fandom. I don't really discuss my original stuff here unless it's just general conversation, but I do have a filter for it. I do actively discuss the writing process and technique and general writing squee.

Fanfic - (SPN) When I'm reading, I like canon-based stuff. I like the boys to sound like the boys. I like plot and mystery, and heroic/funny but whumped Dean with protective and proactive Sam. But hey, we all have our own kinks ;) Humor fic is always a win/win for me too, as long as it's not too cracky or stupid. I like stuff that could be easily on the show. (This applies for all my fandoms as well.)

Writing Fanfic - I have a tendency to write plotty, longer fic with a range of emotion. So there will be humor and angst, light moments and dark. I try my best with gen, non-pairing stuff with a hearty plot with strong canon characterization. With SPN, I write gen stories focused on the brothers, but I have explored some Dean/Jo fic too. I'm even writing Dean wing!fic which I swore never to do, but hey why not have SOME fun right? I currently write SPN fanfic fairly exclusively, though I dabble with Smallville and Dark Angel a bit on the side. I used to be prolific in SG-1 and while I saw myself as a plotty team girl, I wrote just about everything.

Probably most importantly, I enjoy conversation the most. People who know me well know that I can be chatty when motivated. I love to be able to get into a conversation on LJ or wherever. I do not like when people try to be elitists or think they are so much better than everyone else. BNF behavior irks me. I'm not talking about people that it just happens to, but people that obviously use it is as tool. That's all I'm going to say about that ;)

I'm going to have to go back through the friending meme to see if I missed anyone. But I'm happy that people seemed to find new people to talk to.

it's been awhile...

oh how the times have changed.

I would put SG-1 in the non-active category too. :(

Wow, you and I have a lot in common.
Hmm where do I begin to start! XD

I love my actors/actresses but I dont like reading into their personal lives either because most of what is written/said about them is false and slander and none of the people's business.
I can tell you that Mr Ackles and Mr Padalecki look more gorgeous in person than on any tv screen or mag cover etc even when they're jet lagged and got scruffy beards! they look younger too. I'm still starstruck, its been like 3 or more weeks since the convention.....I cant watch SPN without squirming (not that I wasnt before but its a whole new level of squirming and squeeing and giggling now).
Star Wars is my first love, Return of the Jedi is my fav cuz that was the first one I saw. Ewoks rule!
I just got into SPN (including Jensen, Jared and Dark Angel) 6 months ago. I'm reading alot of DA fics only cuz the show got canceled and I want more! :( I wont go near SPN fics until the show is finished otherwise I'll get confused, which is why I stopped reading SV fics.
I'm not a slasher either unless its canon like Willow/Tara from BtVS. I'm a sucker for canon. *waves Clois flag*
*backs up* wait did you say you've writen DA fic?

oh yeah the only reason I still own a Ps2 is Final Fantasy X, emotionally beautiful experience that game was for me.
You rock!!

Hey :)

Star Wars is my first love as well, and it will always hold a special place for me. ROTJ isn't my fave, but it's the first I remember and I don't hate the Ewoks. LOL But SW was the first fanfic I ever wrote, so it's just one of those comfy things for me.

That's really interesting how you wait to read fanfic until after a show is done. I don't read much fanfic right now because of time, but I am more inclined to read while a show is on. But I don't get too confused bout what is canon and what is not since I am uber picky what I read anyway.

Don't really read SV fic. The show ticks me off too much LOL

And yes, I write DA fic, but just 3 so far about Alec. I need to rewatch the series. I inhaled it last summer for a Jensen fix LOL

FFX is the best! I love that. So beautiful.

Havent seen season 8 of SV and yeah the show ticks me off too especially now from what I've found out.

I think I have a Dark Angel S2 marathon every fortnight since I bought it. XD Alec's addictive.

Yeah. I have a ton of WIPs that I think would make really interesting stories for SG-1, but I just can't seem to get the creative juices to flow. I just fell creatively burnt out for it.

And Smallville? I'm still ticked at the finale.

Anything you find you are active in right now?

This is a random virtual hug and a big thank you for making that friending meme. It really helped me get into the fandom a bit more :)

On to your interests - Within Temptation and The Rasmus? I love that, too. Especially 'Dead Letters' from The Rasmus.

I'm glad! I hope you like the fandom. I am by no means any fandom expert since I am not very involved myself, but I thought it would be a nice way for some people to network. I'm always lookign for more people to talk to about my interests anyway :)

Yay for awesome music!

It really is. Previously short glances convinced me that practically everyone is a Dean/Sam-shipper or into RPS. It was nice to meet interesting people who aren't.

Definitely yay! On that note, we need more Rolling Stones in SPN ;)

Wow! You're so interesting!

I love storytelling too! I like to think that it's timeless and one of the things that connects all humans and separates them from the other creatures inhabiting earth.

I haven't watched much SPN but the episodes I have watched were wonderful. I watched the one that was sort of like Groundhog Day. The day kept repeating for Sam. Dean would die and then it would start over. So funny! So funny.

Then I saw the episode this season where Sam and Dean found a prophet guy who wrote novels about them! The comic book store owner who carried the novels thought they were... let's see if I can get the title right... doing cos play. I think that's the right term for dressing up like characters. LOL!

That was my one and only episode to see Castiel but I fell so hard in love with him. I think he was in that episode. What a beautiful man.

I have not watched any SG-1. Well... I think I did see one episode and I wondered why the Farscape characters were on there. Not that I watched much of that either. I've heard great things about it.

I enjoy reading your posts about writing. I'll certainly pipe up when I have something worthwhile to say. :D
