Okay, so I have to ask...

Was Sam part of that whole thing, too? It seemed like Sam's memories had been wiped and he was plopped down with Dean. Well, that was the impression I get since so much of it was Sam's pov. But since it was an angel trying to teach Dean, I'm not sure.

What did you think?

I think Sam was part of it too. They failed to bring the brothers together at the end though... I kept waiting for Sam to walk through the door and tell Dean he quit. Maybe they'll mention it next week. I REALLY enjoyed the episode though. It was great seeing the boys working together again. If only it were real...

I don't think Sam was a part of it. For whatever reason he saw through the deception more easily, I think. Maybe next week we'll find out. Loved the episode though!

Oh, I didn't mean I thought he was BEHIND the deception. I meant I thought he was part of the...uh..whammy? lol Doesn't seem like the right word. But that it wasn't just Dean that was being messed with.

LOL

Yeah, whammy works actually. Yeah, I thought he was being deceived, too, along with Dean. Maybe the angels were afraid if Sam knew the truth, he wouldn't play his part convincingly enough or would tell Dean the truth too early.

I loved this episode, with the brothers working together. And the ways the people died were weird and wrong, but it fit the whole episode. It made me laugh when they looked up the ghostbusters website and they were dissing the Winchester brothers and our guys didn't even blink.

OH, and I like your icon!!

Yeah, and that the site was the greatest site ever! So many great scenes/lines.

Thanks!

I laughed more for this episode than I've laughed in many, many eps. I know it's not supposed to be a comedy, but it felt good to leave the angst behind for a bit. You know? I really appreciated what the angel said to Dean and I hope Dean remembers it when we get back to the 'real world.'

Yes, as much as I LOVE the angst, it was SO nice to leave it behind.

Hopefully they won't gut us next week.

Hehe!! I love angst, too, but after last week, I *needed* a lighter episode. Yes, I am a little afraid of what's going to happen next week.

I think it was both of them. It seemed to me like that was a way to prove the brothers need each other and neither is Weak or Evil.

The Ghostfacers made me laugh - heck the whole episode did, really enjoyed this one. :)

It didn't seem like Sam was part of it to me. Mostly, I think, because if he had been, they would have brought him in at the end.

Either way the episode was much fun!!! :D

So it ended up being a lesson for Dean. But so much of the episode was Sam and Sam's pov and the visions, etc. If it was just Dean, I just don't think we'd see all of that. I think we would have seen more Dean.

But I don't know since we never saw what happened to Sam. I mean, Dean was actually at that place fighting ghosts. I assume Sam was too.

But yeah, either way it was a fun :)

I think so - after all, now thy're all caught up with us from their haitus, and I'm sure Sam would be questioning where Dean was at - and he can be a nuisance when he sets his mind to it. Easier to wipe him and put him in. Though him breaking that phone? Yeah, it shows you he is still headed in all the wrong directions *sigh*...

That's what confused me at the end. I hope next week's episode references it somewhat, and Sam says something about it, because... I want that ending to make more sense.

Yeah, I definitely think Sam was still a part of it. Adorably, too. I think it was all about the emphasis of being 'in their blood', and how they always work off each other. It could also be that the angels are trying to bring Sam back to Dean, because the path Sammy seems to be walking down is leaving Dean rather far behind, and the distance between them has just been getting greater and greater. Of course, it didn't exactly work, since Sam just up and disappeared at the end, I guess.

I think Sam was part of it, too ... in that he was being messed with too. It didn't seem to work too well with him, though, because of all the questions and doubts he had, and the desire to figure out what's really going on. I wasn't too crazy with the way he just disappeared after he "quit." I know it was a lesson meant for Dean, but I was hoping for a scene at the end with Dean and Sam meeting up and talking about it.

I'm wondering if Sam's disappearance and just up and leaving is supposed to symbolize that he's traveling down such a different path from Dean. I agree with the person who said it's possible that in this way the angels were trying to bring Sam back to Dean (and obviously that didn't work).

I really hope they do make some kind of reference to it in the next episode. Even just a brief one.

But do we know if that was really Sam or just a construct of Sam via Zachariah? I mean, it was clear at the end none of it was about Sam at all...

So, yeah. I'm with you. A bit baffled. I think they were trying to throw us a bone by giving lots of Sam, but here it just didn't make sense.

I think Sam was part of it too. The angel said it was real, real company etc.
If it were just a lesson for Dean, why would Sam be the one hinting that there's more and that they're not what they're supposed to be. If it was just Dean then he should have figured it out himself. Does that make sense?
