Finally getting to this. Hmmm...

Well, I did reseach on African communities and language. I had a list of phrases to have for Daniel's notepad. Since most of them were contemporary phrases and I wanted to show a "less advanced" society until the reveal at the end, I decided to use them as a humor device and make things worse for Cameron and Daniel.

Also, I'm pretty sure this idea started off completely different but I can't remember right now. It only started to really take shape when I merged your prompt with Aiz's prompt.

Well, the bogeyman part was never supposed to get involved. It was supposed to be more of a backdrop. But by the end, i realized it made for more drama to have them all go hunt together and make it dramatic.

Dean never was supposed to get infected, either. The brothers ended up having their own involved stories - I think - compared to where I originally started. I also changed some wording around to make the child stealing sound less perverted ;)

And I did a ton of research on bogeymen so I could use it as a basis to make my own myth.

This fic was supposed to be completely humor, poking fun at wing!fic. I never intended for there to be anything earnest about this story. I sketched out the Dean and Jo dialogue way before I figured out a plot to this story. I used most of that dialogue when she is teasing him about coming to her to get laid.

Now it's become something dear to me and a whole plot/universe in and of itself whenever I get back to it.

I never thought I would be pleased with writing ship in SPN fic, but I enjoyed writing Jo and the Dean/Jo aspect was a lot of fun. Making Jo go back to school for theology was a spntaneous decision and one that has become my own personal canon because I like it so much.

The story was a real learning experience.
