Okay, I said I was back like a week ago and I haven't checked LJ since then. So again I am very sorry if I missed anything important. I think I will be around a bit more now.

I watched Power last night when it aired. I am *terrified* to go check around and see what's happening. I hated the episode, but it's the one ep I haven't liked all season.

I think I'm going to laylow in SV fandom for like a month or so LOL

I swear she does. TPTB are caught between a rock and a hard place. To follow the overall canon beyond the show, they need to show that Clark and Lana are bad for each other. To please the shippers, they have to try to make it epic and romantic.

The result is chaos.

Welcome back. :) Don't worry about it, we all need a break from time to time. I go through the internet in phases, sometimes I can't step away and sometimes I can't be bothered to even check my email.

Yup all caught up. I like s4 so far, but a lot of people seem to feel 'best season ever', I'm not quite there yet. It's good and it's still better than most shows on TV these days, but it's not best ever yet IMO.

I got an insta-nephew I was apparently supposed to know about prior to the announcement but I didn't. Surprise!

Other than that, my life is as boring as ever between bouts of feeding the homeless and rescuing collapsed women on sidewalks. ;)

Can I throw some ideas at you when I start into my Big Bang story? I know just enough about South American prehistory to make wretched mistakes, and I want to be sure I get details right.

(er...I am writing SG-1 gen "Nick comes back" fic set in season seven or so, where they run around the galaxy racing Anubis for a super-sarcophagus and...discover the meaning of life? You know, the usual.)

Sure, not a problem. It's funny because I had a S7 Nick fic about the Maya and giant aliens and meaning of life stuff and I never got around to writing it. Sadly, probably never will.

Spatchcocking is when you cut out the backbone of a chicken (and sometimes the breast cartilage), then butterfly it so it lays flat and will cook more evenly. I had the scissors and was cutting down the backbone and holding the neck with my left hand when I cut too far and went into my pinky.

My new schedule for my son's homeschooling/college has been through a few updates, but so far, so good. His psychology class is a lot more demanding than we had anticipated -- essays galore!

We've had snow here that had my hubby working from home. It took him and my son quite a while to dig us out of the driveway. But, then, later in the day, it began to rain. Just love that layer of ice now. :O

In fandom, I started a community for Stargate Universe - sort of a gathering place to discuss the stories, share artwork, etc. Check it out sometime, if you're interested in that new installment. sgu_destiny :)

I didn't know one could homeschool college. That is so neat. Is he taking anything else?

Oh, I meant that my son is both homeschooled and is attending college classes to count toward his high school diploma. We live a bit away from campus, so we have to schedule around an hour's commute both ways. It's a bit nuts.

I've heard of people getting their degrees online, but have never investigated that. My son prefers to sit in a classroom and interact with people, even though he's going into a techy kind of field (robotics/physics). He's just a people person. ;)

What we're doing at the community college is allowing him to get both a high school diploma and an A.A. degree before he enters college. He's getting the benefit of learning in a classroom setting, learning from someone besides me, and conducting his science experiments somewhere where explosions are an everyday occurrence ... j/k. ;)

Yes I am honey - it's that whole take it day by day thing, lol!! Some days are better than others - but hurting wise, I'm alright - temper wise, not so great! But I'm holding my own right now...

Heh, well, I lost my job and got diagnosed with depression, social anxiety and ADD. So, you know. Some fairly big stuff.

I know about the depression because I suffer it myself. Don't have ADD, but I have anxiety and OCD.
