Though, most of these fics are super short and only slightly longer than drabbles, whereas I used to write massively long fics all the time. Oh time. Where have you gone?

My Favorite Stories of the Year:

SPN

Pandora's Box
Out of the Fire
Magically Delicious

SG-1

Passing the Torch

DA

Lost in the Moment
(No reason for liking this one. Just do.)

My Best Stories This Year:
I would go with my 3 Supernatural fics I just listed for this one. Magically Delicious was my best banter piece, Out of the Fire was the best dramatic piece (imo), and Pandora's Box for the plotted time travel monster hunt.

Stories most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

My beloved Pandora's Box in SPN fandom. I slaved over that fic. Well, not really. But I put a lot of effort in getting it right. I am insanely obsessive on making the characters as true to their real selves as possible. As a plot intensive person, it's full of both character driven scenes and plot. It was also hard because I had to write John Winchester, who as much as I love, is also very hard for me. And time travel stories always give me a headache. But it ended up working. Unfortunately, it didn't go over well within the fandom, but it doesn't make me any less pleased with the story :)

Stories I Wrote That I Never Thought I'd Write:
OMG, Performance Anxiety for the Supernatural fandom. Dean/Jo? Are you kidding me? Wing!fic? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? But it was fun. And man, I needed fun so bad. I'm so writing more wing!fic in that universe even if it's just gen, but I know there will be more het too. Not that my normal fare in fic isn't fun, but there is a big difference when writing something completely for yourself and without restraint and writing meticulously to keep everything as canon bound as possible. It's just different ways of writing.

Also, I wrote two fics in the Dark Angel fandom. I never thought that would happen. The feedback I did receive was extremely flattering.

Most Fun Stories:

Hmm. I would say my humor fics in SPN fandom - Magically Delicious, Awkward Growth Spurt, and Huntin' Ain't Never Been So Shiny which was the SPN/Twilight crossover fic. That was just pure crack. I think the Clois fics and Conspiracy Theory were fun too.

Sexiest Stories:

LOL Really? I mainly write gen and when I do write some kind of ship or slash, it's so tame that it's hardly sexy. But this past year I guess I would have to say Performance Anxiety, by Dean/Jo fic. While nothing really happens in that fic, there was kinky wing stuff going on there for a minute. I guess that is as close as I can get.

Hardest Stories to Write:

The Dark Angel ones. I love that the canon for that show is open enough to do a lot of exploration, but at the same time I don't know it as well as other fandoms which makes my me worry about proper characterization, voice, and canon fact. It's still an interesting fandom to explore, though.

Easiest Stories to Write:

Honestly? I don't think any of them were easy this year. I've had so much going on that even writing fanfic was difficult. I think SPN probably was the easiest out of all of them only because the show is fresher in my mind right now. But because I am so focused on writing them as I see them on TV, it does take work to make sure everything is correct.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

I keep saying over and over that I wrote very little in 2008, but when I complied the fics for this list I was surprised I wrote 29 fics. Now, I've written more in past years. Longer ones, too. Look at 2006, for example. That year was kind of insane. Most of these fics of 2008 are short ficlets. Some are drabbles. Some are short stories. i did manage a few longer fics, but it's really not what I used to do.

Did you take any writing risks this year?

The only risks I took was to write primarily in a new fandom. Most of my ideas for SG-1 are coming to a close, aside from the WIPs I have started. So that was a bit weird. I've dabbled in other fandoms before, but when you make a fundemental switch, it can be a bit jarring. In terms of style, no big changes. And I wrote wing!fic, but that's just insane.

Biggest Disappointment:

Well, I'll be honest. I've been disappointed that my SPN fanfic hasn't gone over well with the fandom. I think I write the characters well and that I have decent plots. I put a lot of work and love into the stories. They just don't grab a significant audience. It could be that people are nervous about a new writer, since I only started writing in the spring of 2008, or it could be that the stories I tell are not the stories people want to read.I think I got spoiled in SG-1 fandom with the feedback, recognition, and awards, even if I was never a BNF. So the fact that I have the inability to reach people in SPN has been discouraging. Doesn't stop me from coming up with ideas and writing them anyway, though LOL

Biggest Surprise:
Magically Delicious was nominated for a fanfic award. I'm proud of the banter in that story, but I never expected it to get a nomination considering how I'm a virtual unknown in that fandom.

Tied with that was the big surprise over the feedback I received for my Dark Angel fics. I've only written two fics but the feedback I received was flattering and I've received multiple requests to write more often in the fandom and also to write longer, plotty, more epic stories. I really didn't know how to respond to that considering I feel very shaky canon-wise in that fandom.

Do you have any goals for the New Year?

I'm not sure, really. I tink I'm just going to take a relaxed approach to fanfic this year. I want to work more on my original stuff and keep the fandom stuff for just sheer fun and hobby. No pressure :)

Wow!! Great job with all these fics! I didn't realize you were so prolific! Bravo!!

I know what you mean about the lack of SPN feedback - I think a lot of us have that problem. I think it's because not only is there such a wealth of talent in this fandom, but there is such a wealth of fics! So many stories, so little time.

Great job in 2008! Word counts aren't everything - quality over quantity, right?

Oh I'm not all that prolific. A couple of years ago I, um, wrote a scary amount of fic.

*whispers* 52

I've slowed down a lot but that is because I am trying to organize my life. It's easier to write when you're just basically in school. ;)

That sounds like a good plan. Fandom is much better when it's just seen as being there for fun. :D
