I'm being entirely selfish. I don't want another strike to ruin Smallville and Supernatural for me AGAIN.

But when I take off the selfish hat, yes. The writer's strike hurt more than it helped, I think. I agree that they need more compensation, but in the end they barely got anything, if anything at all, and it hurt so many famlies and crew in the process.

Now, it could happen again on top of a failing economy.

Just not good. The public backlash would be intense. If they are decent, they will not strike at this time.

What are their demands anyway? What are they, the actors, dissatisfied with?

Also, I read that SAG needs 75% of its members to vote YES for strike to actually do it AND that they really don't have that big support like WGA did.

Alos selfish here. :)

I have no clue. I think it's just similiar stuff like with the writers.

I remember reading that. I seriously hope the actors decide not to strike at this time. I don't think it's going to be received well by anyone.

Personally I don't think they get the 75% majority in a vote. I think most actors (the not rich and famous ones) can't afford to take months off again and crippling the whole industry, again. And I hope the rest will give a few thoughts to crew who most certainly is not rich and famous.
Or at least that's what I hope.

I don't think they'll get the 75% either. And honestly, I dont think most of them want to strike. I think it's more the union that wants to strike.

While I understand why these groups want to strike, it just ends up hurting so many people in the end.

Mega dittos on that. It would be totally foolish and irresponsible of them to do that at this point. They'd be cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

Personally I can't see them getting the 75% they need for it to happen. But I'm still hoping they don't... and part of it is for very selfish reasons like yours (ruining SV and SPN that is).

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing here at home. So many people were put out of work, some permanently. This can't happen again. They all need to sit down and act reasonable, right now!
