So, they answered my question. Go figure. I didn't think I would get my answer that fast LOL

I still have a hard time buying that Dean can be so much like himself and remember everything from Hell. *shrugs* I'm not going to fret over it, though, because I'm down with spazing over things. I just was a little surprised by it. I think it would make more sense for him to have flashbacks, but I guess he's known for a while? Or since he came back? Is that what they implied? It's hard for me to hear anything in my house so I often miss important points.

The alcohol makes sense. I figured we might see him turn to it. And they've been showing him drink more and more as the season has gone on. I just hope he doesn't become a raging alcoholic.

It was nice to see a lot of stuff for Sam here. While Dean sort of takes over (because of the nature of his character and plot), we did get to see a lot going on with Sam. How he's changed, but how much he's stayed the same. Even as early as S1 he was out for revenge. Now he is out for revenge again. But he still cares for Dean and really wants to help. I wish we could have seen more of this sentiment earlier than episode 8, though.

Poor thing died too. Aw.

I appreciate that both of them are trying to be a little more honest. The on and off lies are getting a little old, mainly since it's been going on a while. I guess we'll see if they are learning or not.

And while all this important angsty stuff is going on for both brothers, the show still delievers a funny episode. These are my faves. The ones that can be both light and achey at the same time. I think this is one of my faves so far this season. It struck the right cord for me in terms of the brothers, the humor, the angst, and the story.

I'm sure I'm missing stuff but I really enjoyed it. My guess is that maybe Dean did some unsavory things in Hell and he doesn't want Sam to know about them. We'll have to see what happens.

But SPN? Keep it up. This season has been amazing so far. I may have some complaints here and there, but overall bang up job.

LOL, we're such opposites. I didn't hate it, but I really felt it was a bit of a letdown, given how last week ended. I think much of that is my dislike for the surface treatment, flash-in-the-pan style of Ben Edlund. I like funny, but his funny always seems to be trying too hard (to me). The teddy bear, though, I really thought was cute/funny.

I can't really believe Dean's going to go on very long with all that nasty in his head, though. Alcohol numbing or not, something's going to break. I hope. And it's going to be messy.

And apparently Dean's okay with Sam using his powers last week, as that wasn't even brought up in any way? (This is okay with me, as it seemed clear in the scene that the dagger or knife or whatever it is was out of Sam's reach - Dean had to have seen that as well and realized Sam had no better choice.)

My absolute faves are the mytharc episodes, but second to them are the episodes that are urban legend based and are light and angsty at the same time. I think it's because that is the kind of story I tend to enjoy - I love humor and angst simultaneously, and like to write it as well. Now, I was really looking forward to Yellow Fever and that episode went too funny for me. if it had been a complete stand alone I wouldn't have cared, but I just felt an episode of that nature should have eased into the angsty/scaring stuff sooner, whereas I felt this episode had more of a proper balance.

Dean has been keeping all of this bottled up for nearly half a season. I agree I think he's going to break soon. There is no way possible he can be this well adjusted (and he's really not adjusted because he's turning to alcohol, etc., but I think you know what I mean). All the effort he is putting into keeping it at bay just isn't going to hold forever. If SPN keeps to its normal forumla, I figure midseason-ish things will crack.

That should be fun. I always tend to enjoy the show a bit more after the boys air their dirty laundry.

To be honest, while watching the episode I forgot about Sam's powers. I had been mulling it before it started, but then forgot it as much as the writers did. We should have had some follow-up to that. But I'm going to go with you and say Dean saw the dagger on the floor. I mean, Sam honestly tried. I want that to be apparent.

Me too, on that whole paragraph. I really thought that sporadic flashbacks would make sense, but he remembers everything? Really? How is he even walking and talking? Chalk it up to Dean's extraordinary ability to ignore the things that hurt him, at least for a little while. (Obviously not working all that well, what with the booze and the nightmares.)

Yeah, I think it's always in Dean's nature to be outrageous and in your face, which makes it seem like the story is more about him. But Sam's character is also easy to see, with just a tiny bit of squinting. It's a matter of perception, I think.

Wow. I just have never put that much thought into the characters. I totally forgot about Dean saying he remembered what happened in hell because the giant, alive teddy bear who tried to kill himself and couldn't die stole the episode for me. (That, and Ted Raimi!) I loved how the shot went to the wall, where you usually see blood splatter, and then the stuffing appears, but the teddy is still alive..! I laughed, and then I felt horribly sad. What an amazing show.
