Hmm. Well, I liked that much more than I thought I would. It could have been that I had low expectations though. I'm a huge SG-1 fan, but I had been disappointed in the series during it's final seasons.

Anyway, just a few brief thoughts. Maybe I'll post more on it in the future.

For the most part, I found it well acted. Though, I get annoyed that alt!Jack seemed more engaged than real!Jack. But it was lovely to see RDA again.

MORE PLEASE.

I really saw this as a Cam-centric movie, but with lots of cool team moments. It was leaps and bounds ahead of Ark of Truth which was disjointed and had holes so big you could drive a mack truck through them. Continuum had holes too, but the overall story was enjoyable so I didn't dwell on them.

Loved Claudia Black in this one. I think she plays bad/villian best. Too bad we couldn't have had her as Quetesh on the show. I think she could have played a fabulous villian.

There were a bunch of cool cameos - too bad no Janet for the alt timeline - and I felt the characters were pretty much true to themselves. Special effects were nice and nothing seemed overly done imo.

And we finally got to see an extraction process.

Daniel is about as close to a best friend Jack has? Hee. That made me smile. And there were some nice little moments between characters for everyone, I think.

So all in all, it was cool.

Hee :)

Could have used more friendship moments, but it at least was fun :)

Yes! I wanted more friendship moments, especially in our universe (the "real" universe?). I mostly enjoyed it. Gee, if you can still post on it, maybe it's not too late for me to post on the movie! I saw it a while back but then got busy and didn't post, and it was well after most people had seen it and written it up anyway.

Claudia Black was wonderful. I thought alt Teal'c was great too.

I would have loved more friendship moments. It was hard because all of the drama and tension were with the SG-1 that got stranded and killed. The "real" ones didn't experience it.

You should post your thoughts anyway. No time limit ;)

And Teal'c is always awesome ;)

Cam really did own the movie. He was rather brilliant.

YAY! I told you! I told you!!!! :-D Team! In new adventure!

I found it fairly teamy with a Cam slant. Like I said, lots of nitpicks but lots of fun stuff too. Like cameos and little details like "Langford" stamped on the Stargate box made me happy. I was extremely squeeful at them featuring the real sub people like the COB and submarine commander. Yay service people!

Funny story about alt-Jack's acting. According to one of the con vids I saw on youtube (it might've been in the dvd commentary...but I don't think so because I don't think I've seen that yet), Martin Wood said they wanted to film in a part of the sub, and the pr person was very leery and said they had to ask the commander, and they got him to agree with a sweetener of allowing him to direct RDA when he came out of the infirmary.

And RDA cracked how the commander was getting into his role about "more feeling, Anderson!" And made him do it again. RDA said, "and I did the next time."

That just amused me.

Oh, and if you want, I can track down that Ben Browder extra video thing on the itunes about what was thought to be Cam's fate. (I don't necessarily like it to be "my" canon, but it is cool to watch).

Yeah I saw the Langford bit. I thought that was a nice touch. And the cameos didn't seem forced which was nice.

I could have used some more friendship moments, but at least the movie was decent. IMO, it makes Ark of Truth look very bad. This story was much more cohesive.

And I liked everyone in it, but BB really nailed it in this movie.

Oh yes, I completely agree with you. Good movie, way better than Ark of Truth, but still with room for improvement. :)

I really wished we had gotten more of alt!Jack, I don't care much for the silly-over-the-top-general either. There'd have been plenty of opportunity to get more of him, like angsting whether changing the timeline is worth 'sacrificing' his son for.

I know RDA can play Jack amazing. And some of those alt scenes were proof of it. I don't mind when he is silly, but he just over does it sometimes. And I say this as a Jack fan.

But at least the movie overall was good and it was a time travel story done right. It really really blows Ark of Truth out of the water, imo.

I tracked down my reaction post if you care by this point.

I hadn't even realized at this point that RA was the system lord I didn't recognize. Someone mentioned it to me.

Man, I'm going to have to watch this movie again. You're getting me all excited about it. :-D

Ditto to pretty much everything you said.

I too find it somewhat unnerving that alt!Jack appealed to me more than real!Jack. real!Jack just seemed a bit too... OTT silly for me, I suppose.

Enjoyed CB as Qetesh. Now, this I would've loved to have seen more in the actual series. But it was cool to see in the movie at least.

Yeah, could've done with more friendship moments. But I was pleased that there seemed to be a bit more than what we got in seasons 9 and 10. Loved the bits of Jack/Daniel friendship and Sam/Daniel friendship in particular (you just knew I was going to say that, didn't you... *g*).

They make more movies like this, I will eagerly be awaiting them.

Psst. I saw Sam/Daniel moments that could be shippy. That made me happy ;)

I just don't like when RDA plays Jack that silly. But you have to give him credit for consistency I guess. real!Jack has become so comfortable with his old teammates and friends that he can relax a bit. It's only when someone pushes his buttons that he flies off the handle - like when he realized his people were vanishing. Still, I just wish he'd tone it down a bit. Still loved seeing Jack again :)

Really could have used more friendship moments, but I did love the ones we had. And like I said CB as Quetesh rocked. She could have been an awesome villian on the show. Even if they had wanted to redeem her in the end or something. It just played way better than her perky girl!schtick.

If this is the standard for future movies? Sign me up!

Definitely agree with the person upthread who said "team with a Cam slant," which, fine with me! :D

One thing that didn't stand out so much when I watched, but I can't unsee it now that people've been saying it, is that Ba'al's symbiot really was kind of a weenie compared to, oh just about every goa'uld we've ever seen. Particularly Hathor's at the end of S2.

I kind of miss the old prop Goa'uld vs the CGI ones. But even if Ba'al was a weenie, he sure packed a punch as a villian. Smooth one, that guy.

But yeah it was a good movie. In my perfect world, there would have been more team, but this worked for the story they were trying to tell.

Glad you finally were able to watch it!

I'm easy to please so I liked it from the start. I was craving some Jack and he didn't disappoint in my book. Daniel also had some good moments. Lots of team moments too, which pleased me beyond belief.

*hugs*

I think my favourite part of watching Continuum was that I clearly thought in the beginning Tok'ra scene "Sheesh, couldn't they get ANY of the actors back?" and then EVERYONE came back for the Goa'uld and it was AWESOME.
