Sanctuary, Isis, and Other Fandom Things
Oct. 18th, 2008 02:02 pmI watched Sanctuary last night. I'm still very underwhelmed by it *sigh* I seriously want to like this show. I loved the webisodes. But I find I'm just bored through most of it. Last night, the last ten minutes were good, though. Maybe because they were actually doing stuff. I find the pacing on this show it's biggest problem.
For the SG-1 and SGA het fans on my flist...remember there is still time to nominate your fave het stories for the Isis Awards. It's a great chance to let some of the rarer pairings get their due :) http://www.isisawards.net
I have come to the conclusion that I won't get EXACTLY what I wanted out of next week's SPN ep, but that was just the cherry on top anyway. I am so excited for this episode it's not funny.
I finally saw that last Indy movie. Hmm. I'll post on it soon. I'm still a bit conflicted about it.
I should get to some of your drabbles this weekend. That should be fun :)
I have a Dark Angel fic due for a halloween theme comm very very soon. Eep. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I decided to do that. I blame the Jensen addiction. Need to get that done.
Chainsaws in October make me think of horror movies *peeks out window*
And you know, I'd love to have hot water back *shivers* It's going to be a looong winter.

Date: 2008-10-18 07:07 pm (UTC)Yeah, I gave up after the pilot. It seems like a total ripoff of Torchwood, which I never liked that much. Plus, there's just not a character that I really dig on it. Were the webisodes different? I thought they were the same as the eps?

YIKES!! I'll bet!!

Date: 2008-10-18 07:34 pm (UTC)Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. I'm very interested in following the evolution of webisodes. I think that's where the future of TV lies and of course my writing partner and I want in on it. :-)

Yup. LOL. I took the threats to heart and typed some on it last night. It's kind of a standard Heat!Fic, so I'm trying to give it a little more meaning than just PWP. I DID come up with a fab idea for a different DA ficcie last night, tho. It would utilize a style I haven't done before. That's one of the things I like about fanfic - I can experiment without fear of nonpublication, lol.
How's your DA fic coming along? I swear, sometimes these challenges are torment, huh? I often wonder why I sign up for them. And then I realize - in order to kick myself in the pants.

Date: 2008-10-18 07:48 pm (UTC)I haven't started my fic yet. It's all planned in my head, though, and I should have it done this week as logn as somethign doesn't throw me off.
DA fic is something I am interested in, but I don't feel comfortable with the characters yet so it takes me longer to write. I've only ever written one fic. I'm excited to try the drabbles too, but still scared I'll screw up the voices. I am a bit OCD when it comes to character voices in fanfic ;)

Date: 2008-10-18 08:36 pm (UTC)I know what you mean!! I'm afraid that mine is wildly out of character. Oh, well, I guess we'll both learn, right? Looking forward to reading your piece!
