I Want It

You know, I am going mad waiting for Supernatural to start again. I'm spoiler free and it's sooo haaard. It's kind of freaky too. I haven't been so excited for a show to come back since...geez. I don't even know. As much as SG-1 was totally my world, I was fairly content during the hiatuses.

Wow, maybe the last time I felt like this was for X-Files? Dang. That's a long time ago.

*wants the premiere now*

Maybe I'll play with SPN this week. I could write. Maybe some meta? Hmm. I could make some icons. Maybe some walls. Not sure. I need to do something SPN, though. I itch for it. I just can't decide what to do.

It could be that they left Dean like that. *gulp*

I love cliffies! They are so fun.

I want it now now *whines*

Oh, I suppose I could read some this week too. Do you have any short fics to start off with? Attention span is a bit wonky.

Like, do you mean fic I've written or recs? Because I don't read that much out there. ;)

If you meant me, all of mine can be found here or here on LJ

When I do read, I somehow tend to slant toward Sam-centric. Dunno why, but I do know you're more of an all-round Dean girl.

Yup, I meant yours. I liked your SG-1 stuff and I keep meaning to get to the SPN stuff. Time to actually sit down, read, and focus seem to keep passing me by. I barely read in this fandom. I'm not sure why. I feel like the show itself is pretty complete and well-written, so I don't need many episode tags. I'd probably like the long case/hunting type fics, but I don't have an overabundance of time. And then I see some of the stuff out there and it scares me. Sooo not my cup of tea.

I get fasicnated by people's preferences. I love both brothers, but I do have an obvious Dean bias. I watch for both of them, but I squee a little bit harder for Dean. If I were to actively seek out fic more often, I would look for more Dean-centric stories. However, when I write I seem to slant more toward Sam a bit. It's starting to even out now in my writing, but Sam seems to be my default.

Go figure.

That has nothing at all to do with my brainwashing. Nope, nothing at all. *shifty eyes*

Don't want to. Can't make me. :P

Yeah, I'm the same. I like Dean more, but the one SPN fic I wrote was all about Sam. Say whuh, brain? I seem to be in Sam's head more whether I want to be or not, perhaps because I understand the intellectual drive, the need to understand and organize information. I dunno. I'm working on another fic that's more about Dean, though.

If you're looking for a rec, I like the [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen ficathon. Everything I've read there has been high-quality, and it's a good mix of different kind of fics: some casefile types, some short little moments, some Dean-centric, some Sam-centric, some other characters.

I haven't really gotten into the SPN reading thing yet. (Though didn't you post one recently? I tend to read friends' stuff over other stuff first.) I figure I'll start more reading eventually, I'm just very picky and I like to have time to really give the author feedback.

Yep, I did post one! When you have time to read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Take your time, though.

I've been reading a lot, but I always do. It's not really all that healthy. :)

I'm not so eager for this season... I know it's going to be great (sounds a lot better than the S3 spoilers did), and I look forward to certain episodes, but I think I can wait it out. Of course, if it was airing now I'd be downloading ASAP. ;)

I think my foray into SN fanfic has helped my fix. :)

That was me last summer. I almost gave up on the show. (I think I was in a really sour mood.) I wasn't anticipating the upcoming season at all. Somewhere between watchign S3 and catching up on S2 via DVDs, I feel hard for the show.

Now I want want want. Not even fanfic can keep that urge at bay LOL

I'm spoiler-free as well, and quite proud of myself for it. I'm dying waiting for the premiere!!

I keep coming so so close to caving and taking a peek at spoilers, but I know I would hate myself if I did. So I've been a good girl. It's just killing me ;)

I've also come close to looking. I haven't even watched the Comic Con panel (except for the Ghostfacers part).

You sound like me! haha! Hope you find something to fill the void. I usually just read a gajillion fanfics ...

I am notoriously bad for reading these days. When I was super active in SG-1 fandom, I read like crazy. With SPN, not so much. I'm still not quite sure why. I think that SPN satisfies me so much with its storytelling that I don't feel the need. The types of fic I would be interested in would be episodic type long fics, and I haven't had the chance to read really long ones lately.

Plus, I am a fanfic snob. I like the characters to be as close to the show as possible.

I'm sure I'll start reading more soon.

I'm so with you there! I'm doing the partial spoiler thing, because there were just some things I couldn't stand not knowing.

In SPN-related news, my protective amulet (the one Dean wears) came yesterday! -flails-

They have a such thing???

Is it pretty? I love that amulet.

Haha, not really. I meant more, I read the initial spoilers until I found out what I wanted to know, and then I avoided all the others like the plague. <- Is partially spoiled. :P

It is. My Mum's been scoffing at me for getting it, but I put it on as soon as I got it. :D

You know, I could use a break from my coursework, and it would be awfully nice if there was some John waiting for me when I do... *hint hint*

Pssh. I'm stuck! *cries*

Actually, I know the basic plot of the story. I just don't know what to do next. Sam and Dean will talk in the Impala and plan on their next move, but I'm not sure what the next move is. Therefore, I'm kind of flailing a bit.

I could do a solo Dean scene where he bumps into the hunt side of the plot, or I could have Sam and Dean find a motel.

I'm leaning toward the first because it's more action centered. It requires more John though and I just finished that *sigh*

Aw, c'mon, all you need to do is sit and think about it for a minute and then start writing! *nudge* Go! Think! Write! Gimme John!

Same here! LOVED SG-1, but for some reason, SPN keep me hanging and biting my nails during the whole hiatus, lol!! Kripke you bastard!

*Whimpers*

*hugs you*

Yes! I mean, I still Sg-1 even if I haven't had a chance to see Continuum yet, but I wasn't so anxious about waiting for it to come back.

Oddly enough, while I love Supernatural, I'm not hanging off the edge of my seat waiting for it to come back. I mean, I'm looking forward to the new episodes, but I don't have any real feeling of anticipation.

Very, very odd. Maybe because, while it was a cliffhanger, I'm sure that, at the very least, Dean will continue to be one of the main characters?

Date: 2008-08-19 01:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
I figure he'll be a main character. I can't see it not happening.

For whatever reason, I am very anxious for it to start. I wasn't like that last year, though. I almost didn't bother to come back for S3. The show hadn't really completely grabbed me yet. But at that point, I hadn't seen much of it.

It might also be because I'm having a rough time in RL and it's my current fave form of escape.

Date: 2008-08-19 01:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com
RL makes such a difference, doesn't it? I'm sure a lot of my current lack of enthusiasm is just a hangover from my general tiredness - everything is frantic and full on at the moment, and working up enthusiasm for anything (except sleeping) is a daunting task at the moment.

That said, the more I think about the next season (like during this conversation), the more I am looking forward to it!
