I've been really stressed, so I've found myself throwing myself into TV as an escape.

I'm in season two of Dark Angel now and...yeah. Way different. I'm not sure what I think. I like the characters a lot. I like the ideas and concept. Something is missing though. I can't quite put my finger on it.

But just finished "The Berrisford Agenda." Whoa.

Lydecker. I think losing Lydecker hurt the show. I also missed Zack sometimes.

What do you think of the virus that prevents Max and Logan from touching? I'll put my cards on the table: I thought that got old very fast.

There were episodes I liked, though, so I don't want to ruin it for you.

Lydecker is part of it. There's more to it, though. At least for me. I'm still contemplating it and I'm sure I'll babble about it later.

Oh man. I think it's what made me stop liking Max. There was something very wrong with her in S2. She always had attitude, but in S2 the virus thing made her bitchy, and not bitchy in a good way. I thought the concept was clever and all, but it should have been a limited storyarc of a few episodes and not the entire season. They could have kept the tension going without the virus.

But yeah. There were a lot of things I liked about the season and many things I didn't. So mucb lost potential and they focused on all the wrong things.

Yeah, Season 2 wasnt its best. I began to stop liking Max a lot, for various reasons. Love Alec though :D

I loved her in season 1! I am very confused as to why I stopped liking her in s2. I think it was a conbiination of the virus plot and that her attitude become more bitchy than sassy. I don't know.

I adored Alec and Joshua. I wish they could have been explored more.

"The Berrisford Agenda" is one of my all-time favorite Dark Angel episodes!

Season Two, yeah. It's almost like watching a different series in my humble opinion. I remember not liking it that much when it first aired because I was expecting to see I had left last season and got something else entirely. Although, in retrospect, the characters are very enoyable--Alec is awesome, love him, and so is Joshua.

It was like watching a bad sequel or something LOL

I did really like The Berrisford Agenda. Probably one of the best episodes of the series. I am biased as a Jensen fan, but it was outstanding.

Alec and Joshua highlight the season for me. They were well written and well acted. What irks me - and you'll see me rant about it a little later - is that season 2 had so much potential to dive deeper into the whole genetics thing and they just totally went the wrong way with it, imo. Instead of it being military scifi like it was in season 1, with plausible possibilities, it jumped out of the realistic sphere and made it very campy scifi. I'll watch campy stuff without a problem, but it's not initially what I signed up for in the first place.

For me, part of it was not understanding why they decided to make so many Nomblies (sp?). It pushed the believability till it teetered just on the wrong side of the edge for me. Not sure why. It was just silly that suddenly every transgenic encountered was an animal/human hybrid.

Plus, Lydecker was so much better a bad guy than White. White was so caricature I couldn't take him seriously.

But The Berrisford Agenda. Oh, poor, sweet, messed-up Alec. I loved him before that, but that episode sealed the proverbial deal.

I wish they could have explored the characters a little more deeply in S2. The Berrisford Agenda was like a tease - it set up some interesting character stuff for Alec and while you could see the consequences ripple through the rest of the season, it never really satisified, imo.

Lots of character opportunities were missed for all of them to make room for cartoon baddie, silly emo viruses, and snake cults.

I didn't have much of a problem with having some bizarre transgenics. And I had been really interested in the nomlie angle since Pollo Loco. But they totally went the wrong direction with it, imo. They made all the escaped transgenics cartoonish and campy instead of treating them with the same level of seriousness they did with transgenics in S1. I think that would have cut the problem with s2 in half. That and the ongoing boredom of the virus and crazy snake people.

What worked for the show is that you could almost believe this was happening in s1. in s2, it was just another science fictiony show.
