Friends Cut

Despite the icon, no I am not doing a friends cut because I am freaked out by you all LOL

I have a lot of people on my flist that haven't posted in like 2-3 years. I assume they left LJ, so I am going to go ahead and do some trimming.

I'm mainly aiming this at abandoned journals and people that post maybe once a year. Plus there are some people that I never talk to and never talk to me, so I figure we've drifted or just never clicked.

This really isn't aimed at anyone new since I don't know you yet, or people I talk to on a regular basis.

There is always room for misunderstanding though, so if I cut you and you didn't want to get cut, just let me know and I'll add you back. Or just post here if you want me to keep you. Even post here if you are looking to be cut. Maybe I bore you ;)

No hard feelings or anything. Like I said, just let me know. :)

it's like this: if i haven't heard from someone in like three months, and they don't have a hiatus post up, or they haven't posted i those three months, off you go. i don't friend back blank LJs either.

since i only go back 3 pages on my flist, i do miss things, so if i haven't heard from someone, i'll check out the journal to see when the person last posted.

i don't usually advertise i've done these cuts, cause the people i end up taking off aren't around to see such a post....

so i know exactly where you're coming from.

I do friends' cuts rarely, but I have what I call a lot of abandoned journals on my LJ. Plus, some people I just don't converse with at all. it's not that I don't want to - I'm actually quite the talker once you get me going. it's just that some people I just don't have anything in common ith anymore and some people I try to talk to, but they never talk to me. So if there is no interest, there is no interest.

I just personally rather invest my time in people I can have conversations with :)

I annouce it just in case. Most people aren't going to respond anyway, but that way it limits any hard feelings :) The more I can limit the internet drama, the better! LOL

exactly. if someone hasn't updated, or i don't talk to them any more, i'll take them off.

and then there's another type of people i'll take off: the post, so i reply. they post again, i reply... i reply, i reply to all their posts. but they never comment back. and they never comment in my either. why should it be one-sided like that?

Exactly. I don't talk about it a lot, but this is how I feel. I'm not saying none of us are never guilty. There is no way I can respond or comment on everything out there. The same goes for everyone else. But if you are the only one talking and the person never bothers to talk back, that's not a conversation. And that is what I am here for.

Just an FYI...don't take it perosnally if I am not as responsive over the summer in your LJ or other LJs. It's only because I am a spoilerphobe so I won't be reading as many posts in people's LJs LOL

i totally agree.... i'm here for the conversation, the back and forth and such. i love it when somone replies, i comment back in such a way that invites another comment (maybe i've asked a question), and that's the end of it. *sigh*
