Foiled Again

Ugh, so I have two files open: one is original fic and the other fanfic. Normally, if I am stuck in one, I can jump to the other. Can I do that today? Nope.

Whatever possessed me to think I could write monster fic with John Winchester and the boys hunting is beyond me. I can't write John!

And original fic, I have the ideas and scenes, but you refuse to be expressed in words. I think I hate you.

Maybe I should try by hand and take out the trusty old notebook.

I switch back and forth a lot. I think it's because I think more when I am walking around or working on something else, so it's easy for me to turn to a notebook and jot somethign down :)

Totally know what you're going through. :(

Last night I got inspiration for my SN fic at midnight, four hours after I opened my story files. It was just as well I have the day off work today.

Hmm, notebook only works for me if I'm nowhere near laptop. Sometimes, if I'm really desperate, I take the laptop to bed. For some very odd reason, my Muse likes that - sore leg muscles, be damned.

It figures you'd get inspired at such an odd time. Isn't that how it always works?

It amazes me just how different everyone's writinh styles are in the sense of how the writing is done. If I am stuck, I turn to my notebook. I often jot down phrases and words and snatches of dialogue in my notebook too. I free write as well.

When I am sitting on my computer, I tend to be more formal. But I know people who are the exact opposite.

I love it. It just amazes me :)

I have to agree... John is extremely hard to write for some reason. Maybe it's the lack of screen time in order to really know his character or that he was so mysterious. I don't know... but yeah, I always draw a blank when I try to write or he comes out cookie-cutter. I hate that. :(

Handy-dandy notebook is always good, too. ;)

His character has so much presence without even being there half the time. And he just has this ease and fortitude that I have a hard time capturing when writing. Plus, this is my first time trying to write John.

Yay for distractions though. They are my lifesaver ;)

I'm not sure if it's John I'm having a problemw ith you their reactions to John. Maybe both. After I get past the next couple of scenes, I think I'll be okay.
