Nominated?
Jun. 12th, 2004 06:39 pmI have been nominated for fanfic awards? This came as quite the surprise! I just started posting them online like three months ago. I am not even finished posting them on all the sites that I want to post on!
It appears that some of my Stargate SG-1 fics have been nominated for the 2004 Stargate SG-1 awards. Go figure. Of course, I am kind of puzzled why the fics I consider to be my worst were the ones nominated! None of my favorite ones are up for grabs. I think that is hilarious. I may not win, but hey, it's pretty cool to be new and get nominated three times. That works for me :) Made my day.
For those of you not in the know, or who are in the know, Stargate is currently reigning as my favorite sci-fi topic. I still adore the original Star Wars trilogy and I always will, but I am currently ticked off with George Lucus and I need a break from SW for awhile. If not, I might accidentally blow up my characters in my fic out on anger towards him.
Back to Stargate, the series--which is entering its twilight years--ranks up there on my fave list along with X-Files. And like X-Files, the writers are starting to get full of themselves and messing with the characters to the point where I am getting antsy in your typical fannish sort of way. It sucks if they end in decline like X-Files did, but big shots never learn, do they?
Anyway, so that is my totally geeky post for the day. Stay tuned for more geekdom in the coming weeks :)
So in the spirit of my Stargate geekiness...

You like Whumped Daniel!
How do you like your Daniel Jackson?

Ah, yes. Got to love it :) But once I start school, I'll get some more seriousness posted along with my sci-fi hobbies. Mortuary remains! Whoo! That'll put a positive spin on my journal, right? Heh...

Date: 2004-06-13 01:55 pm (UTC)I've been thinking about Ep 3 (aside from how much I don't want to see it and won't go) and wondering if it has a title yet. I think that GL should just skip straight to the chase and call it "Worst Episode Ever" (in the tradition of Comicbook Guy), because really, when you look at Ep 1 and Ep 2, it's not like he's been working on an upward trend with this trilogy.
And he doesn't need my $14.50 anymore than he needs anyone else's admission price. I think everyone should boycott it because it's so bad and it's OUR money he's wasting, in the end. And our time.

It's a Stargate Sg-1 fanpage. I am currently editting and reworking my Final Fantasy fic that you had been interested in too. So once that is all set, I will post it on it's own little page. Been busy with getting errands done for school :)
