Fair warning. I anticipate that over the next couple of months I will be on a Supernatural kick. My Supernatural obsession, as evidenced by last year, burns hard and strong, but also burns out fast. So, unless this bout of SPN obsession is more permanent, my fickle mind will probably latch onto something else soon.
However, in the meantime, please feel free to feed the obsession with squee and discussion. It's eating my brain!
(P.S.-Smallville/Superman related obsessions are still running strong, but I'm more quiet about them right now. Stargate is always a constant, but I'm on a little break in anticipation of the movie.)

Date: 2008-01-13 11:28 pm (UTC)So, then I started watching what was left of S2. I wasn't impressed. "Heart" totally turned me off and I lost interest. (Even if the ending minutes of that episode were beautiful.) I didn't even like the finale very much but that might be because I was grumpy about episodes like Heart.
I'm enjoying S3 a lot more than you are and the changes haven't bothered me. I also feel like the episodes have been getting stronger and stronger as the season continues, and I'm sad that t's going to get cut short.
But I don't know. This burst might be hear to stay. I'm writing my very first SPN fanfic myself, something I never thought I would do, so it might be more permanent than I thought.

Date: 2008-01-14 04:53 am (UTC)I feel like my own obsession is taking over my brain as well. Because of it, I have been spending less time at my Stargate groups/forums and I signed up for a couple of SPN ones. It's like my obsessions tend to wax and wane. I'll spend a few weeks in one, then I'll be enticed into another one for a bit and end up going back and forth. It's really hard to juggle the fandoms sometimes and divide my time up equally between them.
But still, I don't have many people on my f-list who are as into this show as I am, so any discussion at all is welcome.

Date: 2008-01-14 01:36 pm (UTC)So, I've turned my attention to Supernatural for now. I got into it briefly last year around this time of year, but I fell out of it not long after. I kept watching the show, it just wasn't consuming me.
It's baaaack.
One thing is for sure - I don't want to get as fannish with SPN or any other show like I did with Stargate. Fandom is fun but it's also depressing. I'm content to keep my fun to a smaller circle :)

Date: 2008-01-14 01:47 pm (UTC)Some fandoms have that habit of creeping up on you, don't they. My mom is to blame for my Supernatural obsession. She watched it on and off in seasons 1 and 2, but I had this feeling it'd be too teenybopperish because of the channel it was on. Then about a year ago I made myself sit down and watch it, and... hello, new fandom.
Again, I hear ya. I'm not looking to get as fannish as I did with Stargate on anything else. I did join a few forums but I limit my participation and I haven't joined the most popular ones. I've met some nice fellow fans, most of them here in LJ.
Not sure if I'll ever try writing Supernatural fanfic. Guess it could be interesting, but I don't have any ideas.
