Okay, for those that feel the need to be holier than thou and look down at people who don't think exactly like you do as abnormal and inferior, bite me.

In other news, as on January, I'll be trying to keep my original writing stuff as well as tips and links to my writing journal. All fandom related stuff will remain here.

For those of you interested in writing, I will also be starting up chats or it's equivalent the same month.

[Poll #1104245]

If you know of any better way to include anyone that wants to take part online, please let me know. I'm seriously open to suggestions. i want people to get the most of it.

In my experience of the redial chats, you can't please all of the people all of the time, re. timing / method, etc, but if it's on regularly, people will have more chances to be around.

Oh, and some people prefer IRC. I've looked into it a little, and it looks relatively possible (about the same difficulty level as IM chats, in my opinion), but it depends on how many people either know about it already, or are willing to learn.

And, p.s., IM software such as Trillian (for PCs) and Adium (for Macs) can connect to both AIM and Yahoo, and some other ones that I forget (GCQ or something like that?). They're very useful.

Oh, I didn't think of that. That is a good option. I don't know how it works, but I'd like to see if I can get more info about it. That might help bridge some of the gaps.

I'm not 100% clear on how these things work, so if you ever want to do some trial runs, I'd willingly help. I could do with knowing a little bit more about what they can and can't do.

I use Adium and it's like a God send! No need to have multiple windows or programs open! Dad has trillion and thought it was better than sliced bread, and when I found Adium, I agreed!

Newly added are MySpace Im (finally!) so us Mac people can keep up!

GAH! Do I need to send out ninjas?

And you know I'm game, any time. And just sayin', I would love to friend your writing journal if you plan to open it up to everyone else.

No, no ninjas necessary. I'm just tired.

And thank you. It exists, I just haven't much going on at that journal right now. It's called lack of focus *sigh*

I am absolutely always on IRC, and find it far less intrusive than YIM or AIM. Also, with IRC you can access the chat via a JAVA applet, or with any number of clients such as mIRC, Ice, or Trillian. Once you register the chat room channel, it remains static as long as someone with mod status visits said channel at least once a month, so you don't have to contact people with new links for every meeting. Setting up the JAVA applet might take ten minutes or so, but that's a one time deal, and you're good to go. And if the channel (room name) does expire, it's a simple matter to get it back, provided nobody else has registered it in the meantime. In summary, IRC is easy.

I had IRC ages and ages ago. I really need to figure out how to use it and download it again just for the sake of having it.

Online writing workshop sounds like an awesome idea. If I can participate I'd love to, but I think I'd have to recomend AIM chat...mainly because it works with GMail now and I wouldn't have to download Yahoo's messenger. I've never had much luck with that program sadly.

I know that a lot of people struggle to write but have tons of ideas in their heads. Gathering together to discuss those ideas (as far as anyone wants, that is) seems to me like a good way to keep the enthusiasm going even when it starts to petter out.

I'm not very talkative on IM (and will sometimes get lost in the conversation), but I'm game to at least give it a try. I don't have an AIM ID, and not sure how it would work... *sigh* You know what, just tell me when, where and how, and I'll do my best to be there. :)
