Here comes the next lemming...
Comment here and ask me ANYTHING about any fandom I'm involved in/have been involved in, or fandom in general. Controversial or innocent, silly or serious, ask and you'll get my honest opinion on the subject [to the best of my knowledge/ability].
Okay, so I am only really involved in Stargate fandom, but I've watched and like a bunch of shows. So, here's a few: SG-1, SGA, Smallville, MacGyver, Sanctuary, X-Files, Lois and Clark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Supernatural, Farscape, Futurama...um oh just have fun and ask whatever.
Just please don't spoil me on anything! And I'm behind on SGA.

Date: 2007-12-11 01:06 am (UTC)I *hate* you for it.
Um...
I would say either Jack or Teal'c. Not because I want to because I squik at character death, but Jack's death would crush SG-1. he's pretty much their rock. And then with Teal'c, I think it would be tragic for him to finally get his people free and once the civil wars settle and they are about to have some real government and freedom, he dies.
Rather sad, no?

Date: 2007-12-11 01:14 am (UTC)Both those would be most tragic. Teal'c particularly. I think of Teal'c as their rock - he's like a constant; the idea of him dying is so beyond the realms of possibility that it would really knock the rest of SG-1 out of orbit.

Date: 2007-12-11 01:08 am (UTC)How would I change the prequels? OMG, what wouldn't I change? They had so so much potential and... *sigh*
I guess the man thing I would change would be the timeline. I think the prequels should have happened during or close to the beginning of the Clone Wars and have these movies focus on the characters rise and fall during the wars instead of the rushed and half-assed stuff we saw instead.

Date: 2007-12-11 01:49 am (UTC)The original trilogy? Hmm. Who sucked? Hmm. This is a tough one for me because I thought they all did well with their parts.
OMG, I don't know! I have to think now.

Date: 2007-12-11 01:51 am (UTC)My fave episode has to be a double ep: Kansas/Terra Firma. Those two episode finally sold me on the show beyond just something fun, enjoyable, and bizarre to watch.

This is the only thing you say that makes me go *boggle*! I'm afraid I'm so very convinced that season 3--and particularly from "Infinite Possibilities" through the end of the season--is pretty much the best and most emotional arc that's ever been on TV that I cannot fathom how someone could get through that and still need to be sold on the show as something more than fun, enjoyable, and bizarre. But different strokes for different folks, I guess. :)

Date: 2007-12-11 12:57 pm (UTC)But the going home arc in S4 just clicked for me. I'm a highly family oriented person and seeing him finally reach home, not quite fit in, and then have to say goodbye, watching his family in agony as he left them -- that is what sold it on me.

Date: 2007-12-11 03:25 am (UTC)Favourite and least favourite alien race in Gateverse and why?
no subject
Date: 2007-12-11 01:00 pm (UTC)Gateverse hmm. I hate the Wraith on SGA. They had so so much potential and they just make me giggle or roll my eyes with boredom.
My fave alien race? Um...I'm actually going with bad guys again and going to say the Aschen. They creeped me out. They are so patient and calm in their evilness.

Date: 2007-12-11 09:30 am (UTC)Who were some of your favorite guest stars on The X-Files?
no subject
Date: 2007-12-11 01:03 pm (UTC)I liked the guy who played DPO. I also liked the guy who played Arthur Dales and the guy who played Jose Chung. :)
SG-1 has a lot of underappreciated episode,s imo, but one of my faves is The First Commandment. There is a lot that falls apart in that story, but the character moments are to die for. We learn a lot about what makes Sam tick and see some her struggles. We see Jack being the hero and also a good soldier/leader. We see Teal'c starting to branch out a little more. Daniel was adorable and snarky. And yay for overnight missions!
And...I may have some bias because it had a lot to do with anthropology gone bad. *flashes her anthropology badge*

Date: 2007-12-11 03:44 pm (UTC)a) Alien Tech
b) Mythology
And how would you resurrect Teal'c (not using method already mentioned in the show)? (see see see see! Not so easy, is it? :-p)
no subject
Date: 2007-12-11 10:58 pm (UTC)The tech I hate the most is sort of hybrid tech.
Those STUPID ships and their BEAM ME UP tech. Argh. Stargate? Hello?
Fave tech. Gotta go old skool and cheat. The Stargate ;) Second place goes to the sarc because I am evil.
Mythology
Least fave: As much as the use of Middle English annoyed me in Demons, I have to say that the Japanese goddess annoyed me more. Japanese myth is easier to hand wave because it's older, but it's also kind of insulting to people who still worship that goddess. And she wasn't even used. Boo.
Fave mythology: Any use of Egyptian myth as it is rooted in the movie
So how would I bring Teal'c back? Since all the normal sacred places for the Jaffa have been destroyed by Goa'uld, looters, or civil war, a new local is picked. the SGC and the Jaffa fight over what kind of ceremony Teal'c would want - more Earth based or more traditional Jaffa. Daniel negotiates between them and they settle on a mixed ceremony on neutral ground.
When they take his body to the pier to be burned, the flames create a chain reaction to an undectable substance in the air which has reanimation properties. Teal'c's cells are regenerated and he is revived and steps off the pier.
Needless to say, everyone is stunned until Sam does a full scan of the atmosphere. But Teal'c goes down as legend with the Jaffa ;)

Date: 2007-12-29 07:30 pm (UTC)My fave plotline that I would like to see? I think it's very much the fic idea I have. If I could see that on the TV I think I would squee til the cows came home. It won't happen though so I have to keep just letting it play out in my head ;)
