Here comes the next lemming...

Comment here and ask me ANYTHING about any fandom I'm involved in/have been involved in, or fandom in general. Controversial or innocent, silly or serious, ask and you'll get my honest opinion on the subject [to the best of my knowledge/ability].

Okay, so I am only really involved in Stargate fandom, but I've watched and like a bunch of shows. So, here's a few: SG-1, SGA, Smallville, MacGyver, Sanctuary, X-Files, Lois and Clark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Supernatural, Farscape, Futurama...um oh just have fun and ask whatever.

Just please don't spoil me on anything! And I'm behind on SGA.

Okay, I'm going around asking this one, because I'm finding it fascinating (it is perhaps making me come across as a bit psycho, this evening, but heigh-ho): If you had to kill off one member of SG-1, past or present, who would it be and why?

And, um.... What is your favourite moment or line from Futurama? :)

I've noticed that you've been doing this.

I *hate* you for it.

Um...

I would say either Jack or Teal'c. Not because I want to because I squik at character death, but Jack's death would crush SG-1. he's pretty much their rock. And then with Teal'c, I think it would be tragic for him to finally get his people free and once the civil wars settle and they are about to have some real government and freedom, he dies.

Rather sad, no?

:( U duz not luv me?

Both those would be most tragic. Teal'c particularly. I think of Teal'c as their rock - he's like a constant; the idea of him dying is so beyond the realms of possibility that it would really knock the rest of SG-1 out of orbit.

Teal'c has an immortal air about him, doesn't he? I think Sg-1 has become accustomed to seeing him as this unstoppable force. He has his moments of weakness, but he's Teal'c. Even without the symbiote, he keeps going. teal'c dying would be insane.

Have you seen Bender's Big Score yet?

And given the chance, how would you change the Star Wars prequel movies?

Date: 2007-12-11 01:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
No I haven't! *sniff* I want to see Bender's Big Score, though.

How would I change the prequels? OMG, what wouldn't I change? They had so so much potential and... *sigh*

I guess the man thing I would change would be the timeline. I think the prequels should have happened during or close to the beginning of the Clone Wars and have these movies focus on the characters rise and fall during the wars instead of the rushed and half-assed stuff we saw instead.

Name the two worst actors in the Star Trek franchise, one in the original trilogy and one in the prequels. Why did you pick those two?

From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
You are confusing me. Star Trek or Star Wars? Because I don't recall Star Trek having trilogies but then again I don't know much about Trek.

Ummmmm.... yeah. Long day. I mean Star Wars.

Okay. Two worst actors. prequels I would say Hayden Christenson. He plays angry crazy Anakin so well but everything else...meh. Pains me.

The original trilogy? Hmm. Who sucked? Hmm. This is a tough one for me because I thought they all did well with their parts.

OMG, I don't know! I have to think now.

What's your favorite Farscape episode? And also your favorite Farscape character?

Oddly enough, I have to go with John. I love all the characters and I think CB rocks as Aeryn, but I am most invested in John. I think it's because John represents Earth and by extension us and how we can crack under pressure, search for a place to belong, and long for home. So I do feel that connection with him.

My fave episode has to be a double ep: Kansas/Terra Firma. Those two episode finally sold me on the show beyond just something fun, enjoyable, and bizarre to watch.

I don't think it's at all odd that you'd go with John! He is, after all, the favorite character of many, many, many Farscape fans, and even those of us who like Aeryn best have to love John tremendously, I think. And the Unrealized Realities/Kansas/Terra Firma arc is fabulous. Best of season 4, easily, and among the best of the series. And in terms of overall themes, these are absolutely key. I read the best description EVER of Farscape this week (attributed to [livejournal.com profile] thassalia)--"The Odyssey on acid"--and, well, our hero does have to get back home again.

Those two episode finally sold me on the show beyond just something fun, enjoyable, and bizarre to watch.

This is the only thing you say that makes me go *boggle*! I'm afraid I'm so very convinced that season 3--and particularly from "Infinite Possibilities" through the end of the season--is pretty much the best and most emotional arc that's ever been on TV that I cannot fathom how someone could get through that and still need to be sold on the show as something more than fun, enjoyable, and bizarre. But different strokes for different folks, I guess. :)

I loced Season 3. I devoured it. But there was something interesting in the reversals of S4 even if they could have been explained better.

But the going home arc in S4 just clicked for me. I'm a highly family oriented person and seeing him finally reach home, not quite fit in, and then have to say goodbye, watching his family in agony as he left them -- that is what sold it on me.

Favourite episode of Futurama and why?

Favourite and least favourite alien race in Gateverse and why?

From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
My fave episode is probably Luck of the Fryish. It makes me cry every single time. Of course, Jurrasic Bark does too, but that one I have a hard time watching. So Luck of the Fryish it is. I think the song at the end is what always does me in ;)

Gateverse hmm. I hate the Wraith on SGA. They had so so much potential and they just make me giggle or roll my eyes with boredom.

My fave alien race? Um...I'm actually going with bad guys again and going to say the Aschen. They creeped me out. They are so patient and calm in their evilness.

What do you think are some under appreciated episodes of SG1?

Who were some of your favorite guest stars on The X-Files?

Date: 2007-12-11 01:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
Guest Stars on the XF...hmm. I am going to show my total disconnect with my beloved show as I struggle to remember their names.

I liked the guy who played DPO. I also liked the guy who played Arthur Dales and the guy who played Jose Chung. :)

SG-1 has a lot of underappreciated episode,s imo, but one of my faves is The First Commandment. There is a lot that falls apart in that story, but the character moments are to die for. We learn a lot about what makes Sam tick and see some her struggles. We see Jack being the hero and also a good soldier/leader. We see Teal'c starting to branch out a little more. Daniel was adorable and snarky. And yay for overnight missions!

And...I may have some bias because it had a lot to do with anthropology gone bad. *flashes her anthropology badge*

For SG-1: Favorite and Least favorite piece of:
a) Alien Tech
b) Mythology

And how would you resurrect Teal'c (not using method already mentioned in the show)? (see see see see! Not so easy, is it? :-p)

Alien Tech

The tech I hate the most is sort of hybrid tech.

Those STUPID ships and their BEAM ME UP tech. Argh. Stargate? Hello?

Fave tech. Gotta go old skool and cheat. The Stargate ;) Second place goes to the sarc because I am evil.

Mythology

Least fave: As much as the use of Middle English annoyed me in Demons, I have to say that the Japanese goddess annoyed me more. Japanese myth is easier to hand wave because it's older, but it's also kind of insulting to people who still worship that goddess. And she wasn't even used. Boo.

Fave mythology: Any use of Egyptian myth as it is rooted in the movie

So how would I bring Teal'c back? Since all the normal sacred places for the Jaffa have been destroyed by Goa'uld, looters, or civil war, a new local is picked. the SGC and the Jaffa fight over what kind of ceremony Teal'c would want - more Earth based or more traditional Jaffa. Daniel negotiates between them and they settle on a mixed ceremony on neutral ground.

When they take his body to the pier to be burned, the flames create a chain reaction to an undectable substance in the air which has reanimation properties. Teal'c's cells are regenerated and he is revived and steps off the pier.

Needless to say, everyone is stunned until Sam does a full scan of the atmosphere. But Teal'c goes down as legend with the Jaffa ;)

Okay, I don't think anyone's covered SPN yet...

What's your favourite Dean moment and why? Also, if you could have your wish for a certain plotline/myth/scene/gueststar/whatever in an upcoming episode, what would you wish for?

Date: 2007-12-29 07:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com
I don't know what my fave Dean moment is. I've been thinking about it and I don't know. But I also haven't watched the show very much, so I could be forgetting a moment of awesomeness. I did like him scared in the airplane episode in S1 but I also liked his moment when Sam died. But I have a feeling that In My Time of Dying is going to go down as one of my fave episodes once I finish watching it. There are probably moments there.

My fave plotline that I would like to see? I think it's very much the fic idea I have. If I could see that on the TV I think I would squee til the cows came home. It won't happen though so I have to keep just letting it play out in my head ;)

Do you have season 2 yet?? *hopes* My own personal fave Dean moment came in What Is And What Should Never Be, which is when I actually felt that I loved the guy. Shocking. ;)

It won't happen though so I have to keep just letting it play out in my head ;)

Nooooo, you need to WRITE IT. Like, yesterday. *cracks whip*

Yup, I got them. I want to watch them, too. I've just been really really depressed and I don't think watching them would help my mood right now. I keep eyeing the DVDs though.

And I want to write it. I think I'm just afraid too. Heh.
