REALLY?! But...but...I don't watch 24, and haven't ever really wanted to. Damn, I guess I'll have to start, but first I must scour the net for more on this good news.
I heard. Now I have to decide if he's enough to make me watch it. (I mean, I'm thrilled for him getting other parts and getting to try new things...I just...he's DANIEL)
aw *pats* see, it's already a show I watch on and off, so it's not that big a deal for me. If he was on a show that I didn't like at all, this wouldn't excite me so much.
Did you notice? He's gone back to "Ricky" now for some reason.
Yay! As I mentioned somewhere else, I just hope one thing MS carries over from his days of playing Daniel is the weeble gene, because life expectancy on that show is not so good.
I didn't notice that. But I did notice that he doesn't age. Well, okay, he looks older, but he still has a really boyish face. He's the new Dick Clark.
Yeah, you can't count on anyone sticking around 24 for very long. Not unless their name is Jack Bauer. ;-)
We seem to be crossing paths a lot and you seem like fun. Mind if I friend you?
I've been finding your name is becoming more familiar too. LOL We seem to stalk hang out at some of the same places. ;-)
Friends you back.
As for Ricky. It was his cheekbones. He certainly didn't look thin in his body or neck, but his cheekbones were oddly sucked in. It was weirding me out. I wonder how long his character will last.
Yeah, I was trying to figure it out because there were things about him that look older but then in some ways he still looked very young. It might just be the cheekbones. I'll have to look next week.
WHAT!? SCORE! I didn't know about this, but am very excited that he's doing something to expand his fandom:)....this way I can spread the love that is MS and people who watch 24 (alotofthem) will know who he is...and OYES! Thanks for the info:)
Yay for MS getting another role (and something so well know, too!), but man, now I have to figure out what the hell is going on on 24 so I'll be able to watch. There should be a primer. ; )
I did a mostly incoherent synopsis and emailed it to moonshayde, but nialla42 was crazy kind enough to give a synopsis of the season here.
The concept of the show is a horrible, no good day in the life of Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Agent Jack Bauer (this is his "sixth" bad day).
Basically, 24 is like those old movie serials that ends on a cliffhanger every episode. Each hour of the show is an "hour" in real time. Everyone seems to need serious therapy because of all the conspiracies, betrayals, and shit blowing up.
Despite it happening in today's world, in some ways it's less realistic than SG-1 (I've literally lost track with how many nuclear weapons have exploded in the LA area over the past "six" years).
But the roller coaster ride of suspense is worth the trip, and the acting in the show is top notch, so it's quite a get for Mr. Shanks IMHO.
I was just telling someone recently that he might have trouble breaking into mainstream American TV because of blah blah, but OTOH maybe not since he'd already done a CSI. Great to hear it's working for him!
