I watched these, oh, months ago and I never posted my thoughts. I figured what the hey. Now, they won't be very detailed because it's been a while.

Okay, well, I finally went back to watch the rest of Scratch n'Sniff. Meh. I still don't like it. While I appreciate that they wanted to be different and try a new style -- I'm all for style -- I just don't think it worked. it should have worked, but it didn't. The whole trippy aspect of this episode was great. The narrative and the flashbacks were great. Mrs Browder was great as always. But something didn't jive in this episode. Which is a shame because there were some good parts to it.

Just not liking it.

Infinite Possibilities (Part 1 Daedalus Demands)

Very very cool episode. Revisiting old storylines and we're back to the main arc of the show. Alien dad guy was back. Just everything was great about this episode. You'd think I'd remember more but...LOL

Infinite Possibilities (Part 2 Icarus Abides)

Well, with a name like that you know it's tragedy. This part was way better than the first part and very sad. I have to admit, though, I did giggle a little when John died. Not because it was funny, but because I've been havign fandom collides issues for a while now with all the shows I watch. I've already had a character I like die of radiation poisoning in another fandom. It just amused me.

But it was very sad. Because he died. John was finally free from Scorpius. And he died. But he died well. The emotion at the end of this episode was intense. It's one of my faves.

Revenging Angel

Ugh. Another episode that annoyed me. It annoyed me not just because it was done in looney tunes style and I hate looney tunes, but because the theme and the lesson learned in this episode was so important and the interaction between D'Argo and John was so very important. And all of these important moments were sandwiched between silly stuff I care nothing about. Grr. So, I wasn't pleased. Loved parts of the episode, but hated it for the most part.

Hopefully, soon, I'll be able to finish off Season 3 :)

You already know how I felt about "Scratch n Sniff", but I kind of agree with you on "Revenging Angel". I mean...I watched all four of them in a row, so by the time I got to "Revenging Angel" I was a little shell shocked. The "WTF?" Factor was cool for about ten minutes...and then I wondered if one of them had got a really bad sun burn or something and couldn't appear on screen. It was too light-hearted to for it's own material and definitely to follow "Icarus Abides".

Still...the Farscape Love continues!

RA annoys me because again I see all these important issues being addressed: John and D'Argo, Harvey and John's methods, etc, and it's all this silly stuff. Maybe if the themes weren't so vital and important to the characters, this method would have worked. But they didn't match andtherefore it ruined the episode. I still enjoy the high points of the episode though.

And I agree. While having something more light-hearted follow up Icarus Abides, this was too silly and light-hearted. The man was in a coma, fcol. But ah well. I'm just going to move onto the next ep.

I really enjoy some moments in RA, but I have to admit that overall it's not my sort of thing. It's very highly rated by fandom, and the writing staff, but I personally wouldn't go mad for it.

The Choice is up next though! *loves*

RA irks me because there are really important moments in it. It's good stuff. I just feel the tension between John and D'Argo should have been handled a little more seriously. It felt like a waste. And the whole different styles between Harvey and John was extremely good too. And it was sandwiched between looney toons! I think the toon aspect of it could have served a different kind of theme instead.

I take it The Choice must be a good episode :)

Yes, I liked the John and Harvey scenes, those were fun. And John being faced with the different Aeryn's. I guess I just wasn't that into the cartoons.

The Choice is totally different style, much darker and very good yes :D

The Choice is a good episode if you like Aeryn angst. Keep in mind, this is her first post dead John episode.

I, therefore, love it.

Other people don't dig it quite as much.

I didn't care for RA much at all but it does have one of my favorite lines: "thank you for coming. go away."

I'm enjoying the Aeryn angst of S3 very much. So I figure I'll enjoy The Choice when I have the chance to watch it :)

Season 3 was Emmy worthy, in my opinion..

It's hard to say "enjoy" The Choice...but you get what I mean.

I didn't like RA much the first time I saw it--I was just shattered from IP:IA, and then Looney Toons?!?!?!? The second time I saw it, it worked much better for me. I think the second time through season 3 I better appreciated the contrast between what the two crews had been facing (things much more grave in many ways on Talyn than on Moya), and I liked the fact that even when dealing with serious themes with the Moya gang (as in RA), there is a certain unmoored insanity to it. But then that starts to get into a bigger theory of mine about John without Aeryn, the wormhole obsession (and the Aeryn obsession) without the grounding of Aeryn's actual presence, etc. And a lot of that wouldn't make as much sense to you at this point in the series.

So RA has grown on me. Also, I just really like the crack eps!

I know you like the crack eps. I hate them ;)

Makes sense to me. From the first time they split the crew, I figured that John's obsession was a coping mechanism. (As well as the character's personalities balance each other out.) And I totally see what they're doing from a writer's pov. To balance the dark stuff and angst of the Tayln crew they make the episodes with the Moya crew lighter. And I don't have an issue with that. I actually have problems with other shows that ignore that balancing act. However, I just don't like how Farscape does most of its lighter eps ;)
