moonshaydeI enjoyed The Pegasus Project so much I'll probably be posting little small ficlets over the next few days in between working on other stuff.

It was...beautiful.
He couldn't find any other way to describe it. Over two-dozen languages at his disposal and he couldn't find the right words.
The city seemed to float on the ocean. Its towers reached toward the heavens and gleamed under the alien sun. It called to him, beckoning him closer and closer.
He stared ahead, thinking of all the times he'd tried to come to Atlantis and all the times he'd failed. He thought of Jack. He thought of home. He thought of the urgency of their mission.
He felt his sense of wonder start to fade.
Then, he felt her hand. He felt it slip between his fingers and give him the slightest squeeze before her touch vanished.
As did some of the pain.
It was beautiful.
And so was she.
