What is your alias?
Moonshayde

How did you choose it?
Eh...I was all New Agey for a while there and wanted something to express my love of the moon and shadow. Plus, I wanted to stop using my Star Wars fannish name. So I picked moonshayde. It's a bit odd, I know. But I'm odd so it works out :)

What fandoms do you write for?
I am writing for SG-1. I have an idea for Smallville. But I have written for Star Wars and Final Fantasy X, and I've toyed with Farscape and SGA.

What fics are you currently working on?
Oh that is such a bad question...
*A crossover fic for SG-1/SGA
*Time travel fic for S7 SG-1
*Sam/Daniel fic for surrealphantast
*Daniel-centric Nick fic for S7
*several more icon fics/little drabbles and ficlets as they come
*Jack and Cam fic
*Teal'c fics for my table

*S1 SG-1 team bonding fic/Jack whumper
*Team fic that is Sam-focused
*Jack and Daniel S9 fic

I am sure I forgot some. I am working on these slowly as I am focused on my own original stuff right now.

What fandom did you start in?
I started writing for Star Wars, but I only shared it with a few people.

What is your deepest darkest fic-writing secret?
If I tell you, it won't be a secret now will it? ;)

Do you have any quirks/habits in your writing?
Quriks? Not so much. I inspire myself through music. I map out scenes like in a tv show or a movie in my head. I see it happening. I hear the characters. Then, I write them. Music helps get the process going. Also, visuals sometimes work, too. I get really emotionally involved. All of this helps me to get the character voices as they should be. I'm not perfect, but I try really hard.

Incidentally, I am always willing to share some of my inspirational stuff so if any of you are interested, let me know.

Do you have any fan fiction pet peeves?
Oh another bad question. Characterization. Please try! Please! I am not asking for perfection. But at least try. I am also not into porn, but that is a personal preference. I hate character-bashing fics. And I'd love it if I could find more fics with a plot. Characterization and a plot? OMG, I would love you forever.

Do you have an OTP?
Nope!! I am very much a gen person. I love gen. I love it sooooo much. Can you tell that I love gen? ;)

But I do write and read pairings, which I don't have an issue with. I am gen for the show, and whee fun in the fandom. In fact, I like to friend people who like the same stuff I do and also people who like different stuff. It's more fun that way! :)

But...I have been known to dabble in or like Daniel/Janet, Sam/Daniel, Sam/Teal'c, Sam/Barrett, Daniel/Sha're, and Daniel/Weir. I also like and may attempt in the future Jack/Sara and Sam/Cam. And I've done other pairings but it's a secret ;)

If you could get someone to write a fic for you right now, who would it be?
Okay...meg_tdj I want my Jack fic! Hmm... mysticalweather, and aurora_novarum. But I also know that surrealphantast is working on some good stuff. sorcha_gaia had some ideas working but don't know if she's acting on them. And I read a great ficlet by sela21k the other day. ayiana2 is good. More X-Files please! And I know many other flist people are writing.

*Sigh* You know what? Hear me out flist. You're all a bunch of good writers, no matter what fandom you write for. Just write!!!!

Wow, that is a really hard question. Mainly because I go back and forth between being satisifed with my work and hating it with undying passion.

There was this Jack and Daniel friendship fic I wrote for a zine I am really proud of. I worked hard on the banter and the mood on that one. And there is A Priori my monster Season 9 novel. I was very proud of all the characters in that. I really love those fics when I am not hating them ;)

But I would probably say Echoes of Autumn, which was a Jack novel I wrote that was kind of like a mystery. It was different and not very SG-1 action 'verse type of fic, but I got to play with character psychology. And I tend to be better at psychological whumping. So I would have to pick that one.

Aw it's a cutie Jack icon!

Okay, I'll provide the link. I'm not sure it will be your cup of tea, but just know that first and foremost I am a team fan. So if you have any doubts with it, just wait until the end. And it is a psychology/mystery type of fic. I was lucky enough for it to win Best novel, best Jack drama and best Jack angst. It also won third placeover at Jackfic.

I don't think I will ever be that lucky again!

This is a Jack fic, Gen, and takes place in Season 8 after the episode "Endgame" but before "Gemini." Though it's through Jack's pov, there is Jack and Daniel friendship throughout the whole thing, and of course there is the "Team."
