OMG! Chekov is actually a double agent! He works for the Russians and the US! But he's still a colonel!

And Nerus is sheriff of the town. Bwahahahaha.

I'm watching Eureka and I am loving it. It's funny but not too campy, as far as I'm concerned. The effects aren't overdone and it's also a drama. It's actually pretty good. I didn't think it would be good.

Does this show remind anyone of Stargate? It just so is like Stargate's little brother. I mean, the main character's name is JACK CARTER? *snort*

*goes back to watching*

The moment I saw the spinning round thing I thought "Wow, its the mini gate Orlin built!" And seeing Chekov and Nerus as the sherrif just makes it all the more gaterific. If only we didn't have the guy from Aly McBeal trying to act like a scientist.

This is such a fun show.

LOL! I thought that too! It cracked me up when the different lights lit up around the edge when he turned it on!

I put it on thinking I could get lots of writing done while it aired...ha! I watched the whole two hours. Very cute show, I'll definitely give it a shot.

I have to say I'm glad Sci Fi is finally putting out original series again. They put out some awful ones a number of years ago, but the promos they have going for new ones look decent.

I was afraid to watch it. I mean, hello? Their movies? Oh man. They make me cry. They are soo bad.

But this was decent light entertainment. I really enjoyed watching it. it's one that I'll make an effort to watch again.

I'm so glad someone else saw the similarities. When I heard the name "Jack Carter" I howled! (There was also a Walter which tickled me.) He's also got a wonderful, snarky quality about him that reminded me of SG1 - Jack. I like the way he's not a scientist but it was his different way of looking at things that helped solve the first crime and save the day the second time. I loved it.

The writing was great and it was very, very funny. All of the SG guest stars made Eureka feel like an AU hometown. It's already become one of my favorite sci-fi shows and I've only seen the premiere - twice. :D

I think he's the future AU lovechild of Sam and Jack. I swear. He could easily be like their grown offpsring or something. And he inherited Jack's attitude and Sam's workaholism ;)

But it was good. I enjoyed it and I was surprised.

Jack Carter! No joke!

The pilot was excellent. Really, I thought this show would be a disaster but it was a ton of fun. Just the right about of quirky comedy and drama that I needed that night.

It's not perfect, but it is cute.

The premiere was so much fun. I'm definitely on board. I thought the same thing as you guys about the Stargatey device (and then I thought no, it's the thing from Contact, but still). I loved Garry Chalk! It was very cool to hear him speaking American. I totally didn't realize that Nerus was the Sheriff -- have to watch again now. It looks like they've got a good chunk of the Vancouver TV-actor community involved, so I'm hoping for lots more SG-alum guest shots (noticed two in the coming attractions). And ah, the crossover potential.
