Aw, so many people I've known for a while are not only disappearing from LJ, but deleting their journals. I know time marches on but dang. So sad. I really get attached to people so it's always so sad to see them go.

I sadly have noticed that trend too. Me I just keep opening other journals elsewhere but keep this one. This after all is my official first online journal that I've had since 2004. I won't be parting from it. But I did create a Dreamwidth journal to follow those who have left here and created a wordpress journal too. Hopefully not everyone will leave :(

Oh am I right that it's your birthday today? If so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :)

*hugs tightly*

I get attached, too, but...I've made up my mind that the minute someone closes comments here and makes it clear DW is their main place, I'm cutting them. I don't need the stress.

Yeah, it is really sad. I have some friends that still have an LJ, but they don't or rarely update. Once in a blue moon, they spring up and reply to an entry, so I don't delete them. It's very sad. I feel that I can't leave it.

It really is sad to see people move on. I know I've contemplated it here lately because no one is answering me except a few people. It's like, hey you're not into the fandom I'm in, so bye-bye. Kind of sucks. Then there are those people that up and delete their journals and you have no idea why. You want to make sure they're OK. So I've been feeling it alot lately. *hugs*

I know. It's especially hard in a set up like this where you meet people primarily through fandom so when fandoms change, so do the friendships. I'm the type where that doesn't really matter to me as long as you aren't slamming what I love. I am less kind when I get insults hurled my way because I am watching something different.

I've thought about it myself. Just packing up and leaving. A lot of that community feeling I once felt doesn't exist anymore.

Though, I do hope that you don't leave. I might suck at LJ right now, but I do like to read your posts.

Yeah I made that decision with DW a long time ago. I have nothing against that platform for journaling, but I'm already here. I'm either staying here or shutting down completely.

Yeah, I've had that happen with a few friends too. And they turned to Twitter, which just makes it impossible to keep up with, since I only check it sporadically. I like my LJ, and even though I've slowed on my posting in recent months, I'm not deleting mine. I like LJ too much!

I can't even imagine deleting my journal. All the stuff I've posted over the years just... gone? No thank you! It's such an extreme step, and it baffles me when someone does it.

I know. Deleting is just so...it unsettles me somehow.

I don't mind Twitter, but for specific stuff. Things too small for LJ or just to follow what someone is doing.

But for longer stuff LJ is still my preferred for

Ugh, this displeases me. DW is only hip because of their "we'll let you post all the porn you want" shtick. If they go, good riddance, I'll miss them a lot but I'm sticking by LJ. Most of my friends are here, I hope they stay too :(
