Supernatural Renewed for Season Six

It's official. Supernatural has been granted an early season renewal. It'll be back next year.

While ending on this arc would have been tight writing, I think they could pull off a Season 6, especially if it is some kind of "aftermath/cleanup" sort of situation. We'll see I guess.

So I'm of two minds. Storywise, it should end this year. Selfish Kerri would like another year of the boys.

Either way it's out of my hands so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Not that I have any idea they're going there anyway. Free will might win.

Now I'm torn about Smallville. Because on the one hand...leave Stargate's record alone!

On the other hand, it's been half-decent and if MS comes back as Hawkman...

Could they maybe "end" Smallville and start a Superman thing? I mean trying to keep Clark out of the tights at this point is getting weird.

I unabashedly want another season of SV. It's been so good this year. 3 years ago? I would have said let the show die.

I still love Sg-1 and what it accomplished as a long standing show, but I still want another season of SV anyway :)

They won't change the name for Smallville just like they wouldn't for Sg-1.

I'm... not sure how to react. Certainly not over-the-moon about the renewal, but not willing to quit the show before its done. Even with Kripke standing down as showrunner. There's only one reason why I'd quit the show, but I'm not saying it just in case I jinx things. ;)

Aw, Kripke is not coming back? I didn't know that. I was trying to avoid anything that would bring me down about this.

He's still going to be around, don't worry! From what I've heard, he's still going to be a hands-on executive producer, but he's handing the showrunner reins over to Sera Gamble. They'll be switching roles, basically. It'll still be his vision, though, and Sera is actually a better writer than Kripke anyway. ;)

I honestly don't think this will change things at all in terms of show quality. I'm actually relieved, because Sera's very good at giving both brothers a heavy storyline in her episodes, so you can bet she'll keep things nice and even for season 6. :)

Oh, sorry. I considered it part of the renewal news.

He will still be involved, but I think Sera Gamble is taking over as showrunner. I read that Kripke would like to start planning another show, so stepping down would allow him that time.
