I think I've been burnt with fandom in general. Too many people are so fixated on their idea of how things are that they go medieval on you if your opinions aren't in line with theirs. That's why, with my long-running NASCAR obsession, I've created my own little bubble. I have a message board for my favourite driver, and I talk with friends on LJ about the sport. But I don't do broader fan communities, because I can't deal with people bashing my driver.
I'm already coming up with fic ideas though. LOL!
I'm now a few episodes into season two, and my appreciation for Dean has grown further. But Sam is still my favourite. I've been thinking about why I choose the favourite characters that I do. I might post about it later.
