Despite what anyone says, I still think Poison is awesome. They might be on the 80s pop side of rock, and looking back seem a bit cheesy, but their music is fun.

Agreed. I especially enjoy, "Nothin' But a Good Time." :D

I was into rock at the time, but not hair metal--more heavy rock plus I was influenced by to what was on MTV at the time--and I was also into U2, The Police, REM, and bands like that.

I had nothing against Poison, but didn't really know any of their music, even though I knew the band name. Then I saw some televised fan concert of Poison a year or two ago. They did an acoustic version of Every Rose Has Its Thorn (which I did not really remember, so it was like a new song to me), and I loved it. I ended up watching the whole concert, because it was good. It was a small(ish), intimate show for fans who had all won radio contests to be there.

They also seemed like a band of characters, because as I watched, I realized I knew three of the band members from other stuff--just didn't know which band they were from.

They seem like fun guys, talented musicians and songwriters, and good music is good music. If it's good, it's good.

Hahaha, I love the Poison of yore.

Bret Michaels now, though, I could take or leave. Preferably leave.
