Don't be upset if I skim over any political posts on LJ today for the US Election. I'm not in a partisan mood. As much as I love politics, I am electioned out, especially since I belong to neither big party. *waves moderate independent flag* I swing either way, baby! ;)

This will be my only (I think) post on the topic. I hope if you are registered you go out and vote for who you feel is best for the country at this time. For the liberals and the conservatives and everyone in between on my flist, I wish you the best. This election has been historic no matter how you look at it and what party you belong to. My sincere hope is that no matter who wins we can rally together as a country and try to overcome our current crises together.

Yes, I am an optimist.

Not that I need to say it, but I will anyway. If you comment here, please be respectful. I have liberals and conservatives on my flist and you both (and everyone in between) deserve respect. Thanks :)

I lost interest in this political event some time ago, yet I am constantly bombarded with it everywhere I turn. I'm just glad that today is the last day. :)

My sincere hope is that no matter who wins we can rally together as a country and try to overcome our current crises together.

We as a nation can do this and we will persevere. We're Americans. We can't help but persevere. :)

How much do I love you moonshayde?

Big supporter of going out to vote. Go vote! Whoever you think is best. Honestly, sincerely. *Whoever.*

Waves optimist flag with you.

Me, too! We're few in numbers, I fear. Sometimes I think I'm TOO moderate because I can see both sides and really there's a point on some issues when you just have to draw a line and take a stand. Ah, well. I'll just muddle along like everyone else I suppose!

Yay for voting! I'll stagger out of the house to do that in a few hours myself.

Yay! More optimism. I so need it right now with my finances in the toliet LOL

See, I adore politcs. It fascinates me. But I am very much in the center, so when I see anything to the left or right I don't really bother talking about it. I'm not up for battles.

I am so glad this day has come. Even I am ODing a bit on the politics ;)

I am just floored and so excited how many people want to vote this year. Heck, they can vote for a candidate I might not support, but they are VOTING. And that is just all kinds of awesome.

People are excited and invested in their country. After seeing so much apathy, this moves me. What can I say? I may be a pessimist and a grump with my own life, but my philosophy on life as a whole had always been very idealistic.

Oh man, you too?? You understand!

I am firmly in the middle. I've been ridiculed for it, but I don't care. I can see both sides and I feel like neither side is right or wrong because I don't think there is one fix for everything. I tend to believe that different strategies and ideologies work in certain situations and times. I understand that not everyone feels that way, but it's how I am.

So it makes things difficult. Since I can see merit and problems in both sides, I try to pick everything apart and hope I make the right decision. We moderates make it hard on ourselves LOL

Yay for optimism! I may be so negative about my own life, but I really am an idealist at heart. ;)

Exactly!!! And everyone on all sides is so passionate about their beliefs while I'm standing on the sidelines going, "Why can't we all just get along?"

All part of the human condition, I suppose. It's good to know I'm not the only one!

Aw, love ya, hon. :) *hugs* You said it so well. I'm the same way. I've seen my flist loaded with political posts (and not to pick on either side, but I notice one side is being particularly direct about it while the other side (if they exist on my flist...*g*) is not saying a peep). I've been quickly skipping over them and resisting the urge to comment. I've got big time political fatigue. I've voted, but I'm not even watching the election returns on TV. I might tune in for a quick minute or check out some websites, but I am going to bed early tonight. It's just been so exhausting.
