Thanks. This is my second stab at DA fic, so I'm a little shaky on the execution.
Like I've said above, I really wanted the show to explore more of the contrast between Ben and Alec. We the viewers could see it if we watched both seasons, but I was fascinated at the difference in personalities, yet many subtle similarities between the characters. There is so much they could have explored with the dualities in the various clones/twins that are out there. Are you your genetics or more? If you share the same base, can you be your own person? I was a little disappointed we didn't get more, but maybe it was planned for a later season before the show got canned.
But it's okay. I love the concept enough that I'm planning on writing my own original fic inspired by that concept.
As for Jensen, he managed to pull off two people who were the "same" genetically, but very different in personality while still keeping it believable that they had some traits that were the same. EVen though Alec had good inetntions and was trying and changing under Max, there was always this shadow there that made me wonder if the right pressures would make him snap. They all had a bit of darkness to them.
So Jensen did an awesome job. If I had watched him on the show back when it aired, I may have been floored. But since I see him, an older and more experienced actor, now on SPN I see his stint on DA as untapped potential. He blows me away with his skill on Supernatural. It makes me wonder just where he could have taken Alec if the series had continued.
