I knew I'd love this episode from the promos! It did not disappoint.
Lovely brotherly stuff yet it still managed to fit into the season. Love that.
That's it right on the head! I was so impressed at how they could get the boys back into brotherly/team mode and still have it fit with everything they've both been through.
I think most telling are Sam's expression at seeing Dean just being all enthusiastic about the things that Dean was always excited about. Food, women, hunting things, helping people....The moment where you just see Sam go, "Oh my god, my brother's back. He's really back." It was subtle but incredibly sweet.
And Dean's conversation with Jamie in the bar. How he had been feeling the weight of what they did before. How he faced death and came out on the otherside with a whole new lease on life--and a renewed "faith" if you will in what they do and how important it is.
Good stuff all around.
