GENERAL:
1. How long have you been writing?
Oh geez. I've been writing for a looong time. Like most kids, I told stories through play and pictures, but I think I wrote my first actual story when I was around 11. I created a myth on why the sea became salty and it was published in the school newspaper and the church flyer. I had started short horror ghost stories prior to that, but I never finished.

2. Do you prefer poems or stories?
I enjoy both, but I'm way more attached to stories.

3. Do you aspire to getting your work published?
I am lucky enough to be published. But I have to keep pushing hard to get more stuff done.

4. Have you had anything published? If so, what? [if they can be found online, link to them]
Yes, I am published but since this is my fannish journal, I don't really promote specifics here. If you are interested, feel free to contact me via or email or something and I can give you some information. I write speculative fiction and currently, it's just poetry and short stories. I'm working on a short novel now and after that I have more novels in the works.

5. What are you working on now?
I'm under contract to write a short historical novel. I don't have much choice on doing anything else right now LOL

6. What do you use to get the creative juices flowing?
Music. Music is my Muse. Actually, the band Muse is my Muse too ;) Seriously, music helps me establish tone. Sometimes I get inspired by TV, film, and video games too.

7. Do you show your poems/stories to others?
Yup. Usually only people that ask, though. And the published stuff is circulating for people to see anyway.

8. Do you write fanfiction?
Yes, I always have created stories based on Tv or film or books, but only started to actually write it down when I was 14. Star Wars was my first written fanfic. I wrote three huge novels out of that. Since then, I've been quite prolific in SG-1 and have dabbled in SPN and SV.

9. Do you prefer to write original fic or fanfic?
Original fic, definitely. I love fanfic, but I need to focus on original fic. I'm more inclined to do my own stuff these days anyway.

10. Do you want/have a career that involves your writing skills?
Absolutely :) I aspire to be a novelist and I feel I'm taking the necessary steps to get it done.

ORIGINAL POETRY:
1. Do you prefer to rhyme or not?
Nope. I don't like to rhyme.

2. What rhyming format is most popular in your poems? [abab, aabb, aabba, etc]
I don't like to rhyme, so I don't use that convention

3. What is your longest poem? What was the subject?
Hmm. It was a supernatural poem (not the show, but the genre) and it was pubslihed in a horror magazine.

4. Do you write poetry for fun?
Yes because poetry is a great way to play with words and imagery :)

5. Will you share any of your poems with your friends list?
I can, but I can't be posting around stuff that is published or publishable.

ORIGINAL STORIES:
1. Have you completed a story? If so, how many?
Oh um. I've completed several stories. I think 8.

2. What is your longest piece of fiction? [by word count]
Since I have been basically focusing on short pieces to get my foot in the door, I haven't finished anything very long. I think my longest completed piece is around 3000 words, but I have ongoing pieces I am working on that are much longer. It takes me a while to finish longer works, like novels, and I made the conscious choice to work on short stories first.

3. What genre do you prefer to write?
I am a speculative fiction writer. The fiction I write has elements of soft science fiction, fantasy, and horror. They also are plotty and suspenseful, tend to have a romantic element or family element, and tap into mythology and history. Most take place in the modern world or in a world that is similar.

4. What time of day is the best time for you to write?
Not long after I get up. I am more alert and not bogged down with the events of the day.

5. Do you have any of your stories online to share with your friends list? If so, link to them.
No, because I can't have them online if I want to publish them. But I am more than happy to discuss through other means.

FANFICTION:
1. Which medium do you prefer to write fanfic for? [TV, film, books, other]
Mostly TV

2. Which fandom do you write for most?
I was most prolific with SG-1, but I don't much much time for it with my original writing products. But I get the most ideas and inspiration for SPN right now, even if I can't write for it the way I did for SG-1.

3. Do you get many readers for your fanfic? [pimp it here if you like]
For SG-1, I have been lucky in that many people have read the stories, have enjoyed them and recced them, and I've received awards for them.

With SPN, I have a very very low readership. Then again, I'm not at all established in that fandom.

If you are interested, the SG-1 and SPN stuff is on my website: http://www.geocities.com/celtic_mysts/
Everything else, including the SG-1 and SPN stuff, can also be found here on my LJ. The links are in my sidebar :)

4. Do you prefer to write one-shots or ongoing tales?
One-shots are not easy LOL Most stories for me turn long and plotty.

5. How do you get inspired to write your fanfic?
Same way I get inspired for original fic. Music, Tv, and video games.

So go on and fill it out yourself. Let me know if you do, in case I miss it. If you can't tell, I love talking about writing :)
