It's hard to write in a new fandom. You have to learn how to use the characters and become knowledgable in the canon universe. I think the hardest part is making sure you don't make a mistake. Older fandoms, you get comfortable in what you know and what you need to look up - you get used to the universe. New fandoms, there is much more to explore. it's fun and keeps you on your toes, but it's also more work.

Plus, we all like feedback. It's just a fact. A newbie in a fandom isn't going to get much feedback because most people are wary of badfic. So it's a little discouraging, but I'm not writing just for the feedback.

You should give it a go. See where it takes you :)
