Wow, you're really hooked me in with this. Your portrayal of both Dean and Sam is dead on, especially of Sam's frustration with Dean's behavior.
I also like the little touches of humor, like Dean telling the young woman in the store that Sam loves all that stuff (esp. the pink crystals...that made me LOL), and her recommendation of the dandruff shampoo for Dean.
The little hints that *some*thing is up with Dean were very well done as well. From his spacing out in front of the snacks, to his insistence on taking on this job and, of course, Ruby's appearance.
Great start to this one. I'm off to read the rest. :)
