This is a perfect example of why I don't write many episode tags or many short stories. Or why I write ship sometimes, I don't stay with it long.
The person who wanted this fic wanted a story with a cat, Jacob, Davis (cheated there), and a trip to Egypt. When you get requests like that, you have to improvise.
So I made it a tag for The Curse so I could get as many done as possible. My gen roots make it hard for me not to insert plot. This would be why I have so many novellas and novels. Short stories are my nemesis. it takes a lot of work for me to write something very short that makes sense.
So, to pander to my gen side and my plotty side, I had to create a story aspect to this. Why else would Jacob be there? Or Davis? Or a cat?
This fic fit the required needed by the ficathon recepient while also appeasing my plotty side without going into the dreaded mush/sap.
