That's weird that you posted this. I have been on a Smallville kick and I've been watching the dvds that I borrowed from my cousin. I am so mad at myself for stopping to watch it during season 2.
I just started rewatching this week faithfully. They are playign reruns on the family channel or whatever it is called. I used to watch it during season 1 and 2, but then I quit during season 3.
I hates it! But, it's absolutely necessary even if I am going into arhcaeology. It's all about current anthropological theory which in turn is used by many modern day archaeologists.
I've never even asked what area of archaeology you're most interested in. *shocked* Sometime when you're not being stressed or pressed for time, I'd love to hear what grabs your imagination.
My university was very lax about making us take a good cross-section of courses; I took advantage of that and mostly stuck to medical anth and archaeology after venturing into the more esoteric cultural anth classes. "Development of Anthropological Thought" was taught by a 'rebel' who felt that covering it chronologically would be imposing an artifical Western Construct on the topic. After that, working with a George Washington-era transit nicknamed "Satan" for its habit of spontaneously unleveling seemed like a beautiful thing.
