I definitely think when you jump into a show can pattern how you view the show.

With X-Files, I started in S1, gave up after a bad episode, but came back in S2. So I watched it as it aired for most of the series. My fave seasons are easily S1-4. But some of my fave episodes aired in S5 and S6.

I started watching SG-1 in S7, but I was watching the reruns at the same time. S4 in reruns is what hooked me, so I have a fondness for it. I do love the early seasons best, though.

I wish I could have liked Vala. I hate her character, LOL. I really liked Cameron though. And Ben Browder is mighty fine to look at.

I think maybe if they hadn't kept changing Vala to suit the story and left her as an antagonist/gray character who was recurring and had introduced Cameron a bit different AND not had such a crappy plot, the later seasons of SG-1 might have fared better with me. Alas, they did not and the overall story and writing just was too bad for me to denial it anymore :(

Funny, with Smallville, another show I watch, the show was pretty good in the early seasons, became remarkably terrible in its middle seasons, and I find it once again very strong and compelling in its final season. But that might be the nature of a show where you know how it ends.

I know SPN is pretty divided right now on that show, but I'm loving this season. I could do without soulless!Sam, but everything else is fascinating me :)

Then again, I love monsters and they were my fave part of XF :)
