Thank you SO MUCH, hotlinkers for eating up my bandwidth so I have NO HEADER, my Anis are half gone, and I can't do anymore icon posts. What a lovely way to start my month.

I'm telling you. Now I'm having serious reservations about posting anymore art or using animations on my LJ. I mean I don't even have a header right now because of this.

I'm out of the loop, but I'm curious as to how people actually obtained your links to use. Do you post them for some people to use as long as they comment, so you can keep track of how many people is using your bandwidth, or is there some way I simply don't know about? I'm so uninformed when it comes to these things.

But I'm on your page now and see all the missing pictures. It does suck. :(

I've been trying to make it so that when someone hotlinks the photos etc I have on my site, they get another pic, saying something like "Don't hotlink!" But I haven't gotten it to work yet. :/ I'm sorry!

TAS has plenty of room and bandwidth to spare, too, if you need any more.

But I do agree; hotlinkers suck ass. A year or so ago, I decided to try and find all the MySpace morons that were using my wallpapers as profile backgrounds and linking them right from TAS. I gave up after I hit 50.

And then I moved them all and broke everyone's MySpace. :D

People who hotlink suck. If they want it, just snag it and upload it to Photobucket. Photobucket is free and they wouldn't be stealing bandwidth.

A friend of mine had her stuff set up to where if someone hotlinked it, the image that showed said something along the lines of "Hotlinked image...I'm a bandwidth thief." She got her point across and people quit hotlinking her stuff.

I know I'm late to this party, but I wonder if there was just something up with Photobucket. You were the second person in a row on my flist to mention that their PB bandwidth had been exceeded.

About a month or so ago, PB changed their storage and bandwidth amounts, basically cutting them in half to try to entice people to buy their pro service. However, I noticed one of the animations had a ton of hits based on their limited stats page, and it was traced to invisionfree, which is a message board service. That means someone is hotlinking the animation, robbed what little I had left of bandwidth to begin with, and killed everything I have image wise. So all my icons posts, etc, I have to wait a month for the bandwidth to return.
