Smallville 8x08: Bloodline
Not too many thoughts on this one, but I enjoyed it. i thought it was a good episode for all the players.
I don't really write normal type reviews and I'm really not going to try. So I think my thoughts on shows like this will just resort to a few things I have to say and that is it :) More fun for me that way.
I really liked Kara in this episode and they gave her a nice fairwell. One of these days I'll write up a long thinky post on Kara and her terrible handling last year. I never could get behind her because of it. But she was great here and used in a way that highlighted Clark. I wish we would have had this Kara last year.
Naturally, I adored the Lois and Clark stuff. And Clark has feelings for Lois. Aw. Of course we already knew that ;)
Erica was really good as crazy phantom lady. Creepy scenes there with Davis.
Poor. Davis.
Chloe was cool. Loved freaked out Oliver. Loved the Oliver and Clark scene. I don't even know what to say about it but it was good.
I've loved Clark in every episode so far this year. I don't care what anyway says: TW makes an awesome Clark Kent.
I think that's it. SV is doing really well this year with continuing threads. Keep it up, Smallville :)

Loved the Clois stuff of course :D
And your right, Kara was not handeled well last year but I liked her in this episode. Honestly, I'm happy she was only in one episode though. I really never liked her character.
Ollie was awsome and I loved the Chloe scenes with him- especially the freaky white eyes thing! LOL

I couldnt agree with this sentence more :D

I liked the changes that Erica made, subtle change of voice, much more still and calmer in the way she held her body than Lois, all of it helped in selling her as another character.
Kara was awesome. I felt really let down by how underused and misused Kara was last year. They made her the bratty cousin who didn't fit in and kept trying to push it without letting her evolve. Kara is one of my favourite comicbook characters and I was glad they brought her back for some closure.
Tom is...yeah. He is superb and bringing his A-game to every episode. I really enjoyed him in his moments with Kara in the PZ. Finally giving him some real family emotional context that we've been missing. :)
I think I just did my review in your comment box, lol.

I liked Kara! And I think they handled her badly last year too but like you said, she was good here and they really gave her storyline closure. :D
The Clois is sweet! They usually are. ;)
Erica was kickass! I loved her hair as the phantom lady.
Ollie was wonderful. He is just fun. :D

100% agree there. :D
I'm excited for next week too!

Erica did really good as Doomsday's mother. And poor dude!
Chloe continues to rock out. And Ollie was awesome with his "yeah, Clark's stuff is too weird for me."
I still don't know what to think about Tess.
I'm finding the Lois and Clark dynamic working for me a lot more this season. Sometimes I'm even seeing signs of Lois&Clark, the 90s series. Which puts me in a happy place.
Plus, I'm digging Clark's wardrobe.
Oh yeah, I missed like the first minute or two. Why was Lois moving into the farmhouse? I thought she had been living with Chloe (and Jimmy?)...er, did I just answer my own question? I saw from the point they found this box/got a package and Clark took out the honkin big kryptonian/phantom zone crystal.

I loved the Chloe and Oliver scenes. Very good. AM just rocks it so hard :)
I love that Ollie wants nothing to do with Clark's alien side LOL
The Lois and Clark dynamic is definitely being lifted out of LnC this season. TPTB are excited about it since they've been waiting to do stuff like this. Plus there are no other Superman verse restrictions since the movies got canned and they're preparing for a movie reboot in a couple of years so SV can do more without competition from the movie division which is what put restrictions on Lois to begin with.
They are also drawing upon movies!Lois and Clark and the comics.
What did you miss? Back in the Maxima episode, Clark asked Lois if she would like to move in with him since she was complaining about Jimmy. She declined and said she was looking around for an apartment.
This episode she bursts in and starts moving in which surprised him. (My guess is he backpedaled because of what happened in Identity with the "Good Samaritian" and that he's becoming more awar eof his feelings. She apparently hasn't been able to find a new place. But as you saw in the episode, she has enough money to get a decent place on her own now.
