Smallville 8x03: Toxic

My thoughts follow on Toxic

I'm surprised how much I am enjoying S8 of SV. I didn't think it was possible. Then again, I'm not super invested in this show like some people. I watch it, enjoy it, and then I'm happy. I don't stress over it. Superman stuff is my happy place and not much can dampen that for me.

Clark was very awesome and proactive in this episode. I just loved him to pieces. I love this Clark. Can we keep him?

Lois was great. Very Lois Lane. Bouncing between the tough girl rountine and the sensitive soul underneath.

Chloe was interesting. AM rocks. She's coming off a little edgier. I love it.

Why must I like Davis? I don't want to like Davis!

I miss Jimmy. We've barely seen him this season.

I still miss Lex.

Mercy? *snort*

Niiiice Oliver and Clark stuff.

Okay, I liked some of the island stuff, but I got bored with it after a while. I was more interested in what was happeing in the present.

Tess is pretty awesome, too.

That's all I really have to say. Next week's looks funny :)

My late at night reactions to watching Smallville:

Oh noez! Ollie's down. Um, shouldn't someone be checking on his date?

Yeah, calling the medic...that's a plot contrivance, but okay. I guess Isis was nearby?

Oh, Robinson Crusoe Hood? Is this a flashback or a hallucination? Oh well. Just looks at pretty.

Clark finally decides to look for the date. He's...calling her? Does he really think she'll answer? She's either in on it or probably sick too...oh wait, he's using his superhearing to track the phone! That's...pretty clever. Go you, Clark!

Guess it's a flashback...and wait, that's Tess! Seriously. Does Ollie have to have a "history" with all the evil Overlords runners of Lex Corp? Lex, Tess, even Papa Luthor now.

Chloe rocks. Lois...is quite believable with her worries (and I loved her scene with Tess.)

Random pirate flashbacks, not all that great. (And really, why wouldn't the pirate know how to cure Ollie after watching Tess cure him like a week or two ago. And while I'm at...TWO years?! And without a volleyball either.)

I thought Tess poisoned Oliver until that confrontation with Clark. She seemed honestly shocked. And what, in Brazil?! Oh noez!

Hey, how did Clark get the medicine? I thought it was in Brazil...oh wait, that's right. He has superspeed. Stupid Aurora...wait did he just say Queen Industries had it, or was that a cover story? Stop confusing me, show!

BTW, weird but cute medic guy...when you don't know wtf is in the syringe and don't ask questions, should you really be pushing it straight into the guy's heart? Asks the non-medical person.

Lots of post-climactic mop up. Medic guy knows Chloe's secret, because...he's weird and mysterious. (Poor Jimmy). Tess and Ollie--that's...still bizarre. Clark and Oliver (with Lionel undertones)--aw Oliver. And--what a mess.

Sinuses hurt so not overly coherent.

I think they could have done with half the flashbacks. Some were interesting. And I liked the arrow collage.

But remember. This is Smallville. You don't have to ask too many questions because they'll hurt your brain. ;)

I liked this episode too! And I'm totally enjoying s8.

Clark was very awesome and proactive in this episode. I just loved him to pieces. I love this Clark. Can we keep him?

Yes, we shall! Plus, this Clark wears suits! :D

Lois rocked! Her scenes with Ollie were very emotional and she played that well. :D

I like how Chloe told Clark that she has to live her life.

I don't want to like Davis either but the man's a sweetheart!

Clark and Ollie had some good stuff and I think Tess/Mercy is becoming a more interesting character. :D

Next week is exciting. I think we get Clark to take off his shirt, which is always appreciated. The woman who plays Maxima looks freaky but I can ignore her. :D

Frankly, I'd watch Justin Hartley read the encyclopedia. It's weird, because he's not usually my type, but I just want to eat the man with a spoon. And I know you're not into slash, much, but I know there were tons of Clark/Lex fans. I never got that. But Clark/Oliver? OH, I CAN SEE.

Anyway. I'm not really invested in this show besides teh pretteh, so I probably shouldn't comment.

Honestly, it's a very simple show with a very simple premise. The pretty is a rather strong basis for this show.

I saw Clark/Oliver for the first time in the premiere. I was like huh. I so don't slash for this show LOL Then again, the Tom Welling and Jensen Ackles stuff from S4 can really make just about anyone a slash fan, imo.

I know there are tons of Clark/Lex people. I missed all that subtext. (Apparently even the actors were amused by it.) Oddly, I guess it's not too far off the mark. There are some versions of Lex and his obsession with Superman/Clark that seems very slashy.

And I need Oliver icons. He's so not my type either, but there's something about the actor :)
