Why Am I Always Late to the Party?

While I was out today, I bought a used copy of Good Omens. I've been wanting to check it out for a while, but you know, never had.

Oh. My. God.

I am so in love with this book it isn't funny. I am not getting any sleep tonight, apparently.

Hee! I just read it a few months ago, myself. It is absolutely hilarious.

It was awesome! I loved the angel and the demon the best.

That's a great book - one that will give much enjoyment and amusement. :)

I highly recommend it. I had such fun reading it. I have enjoyed myself reading a book like this is a long time :)

Yes! I loved that book enough to buy it, many years ago. I've reread it a couple of times since then, and still enjoy it, although not as much as the first read.

I used to rec it when I was a librarian, although I had to be careful who I suggested might like to read it--we have many open minded folk here, but we also live in Bible Belt, USA, and some are pretty narrow minded about such things.

I'm glad it is giving you something to smile about.

Indeed. It was very refreshing to read it and it made me very happy.

Yeah I can see why it would be a little difficult to rec in the Bible Belt.

It's so funny! I have two copies. A paperback for loaning and travel, a hardback for at home. If you like absurdist fiction, check out Christopher Moore. :)

Oh, I'll have to check that out. Thanks :)

I can't even tell you how many times I've read that book. It's just incredible.

I loved it so much. I really did.

Hee! I read it in December and loved it. For some reason I can't make myself seek out its fandom, though. I can't decide if that's an indication of how much I love it or a sign that I don't love it enough.

[identity profile] moonshayde.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. It's a good question. I think you can love something completely and feel satisified not to seek out fandom but you can love something as equally and want fandom. I think it depends on the story.

It was amazing though. I loved it.

Ooh, I loved that book! I really ought to buy my own copy, since I borrowed it from the library. Fantastic stuff.

I simply adored it. I loved it so much, especially the angel and demon. They were a hoot.
