And you are correct. Dean wasn't 100% at the end and once it would have set in, he would have become more serious and embarrassed over what happened.

I hope the story showed that John could go dark, but that he really loved his sons. I'm a fan of John and think it's so tragic what happened to him. He truly loved his boys and did they best he could, but he was a flawed character like all the rest.
