SG-1 Fic: Conspiracy Theory
Last drabble of the night, which isn't a drabble since I went over. Again. I'll probably finish the rest tomorrow. (I think I only have Dark Angel left?) This one is Jack and Daniel friendship as requested by
kassandrajones. Okay, this is probably the lamest story I've ever written so many apologies for it. But this was all I could think of tonight.

---------------------------
The night was neither dark nor stormy, but still managed to hold a conspiratorial air. Daniel was certain that at any moment men in black would slink out of the shadows and drag him away.
Not like it hadn't happened before.
He drew his trench coat closer.
"Do you have it?" came a whisper from behind him.
Daniel turned with a sigh. Technically, the man in front of him was a man in black, but that wasn't a fact that made him feel better.
"Jack, can't we do this inside? You know where it's warmer?"
Jack scowled. "Have you met my secretary?"
Daniel had in fact met Bertha and found her to be a perky and resourceful woman. Of all the people Jack had to be scared of…
He reached into one of his deep pockets and revealed a bagged box. He handed it to Jack and sighed again as his friend greedily snatched the box. One would think Jack was wasting away here in D.C.
"You had me fly half-way across the country to give you a piece of cake."
"Not just any cake." Jack clutched the box like it was his last meal ever. And he didn't say any more.
Daniel smiled. Jack didn't need to use cake as an excuse to have him fly out for a visit. But Daniel didn't need to call him on it either. They knew.
"So, how are you planning on getting the cake past Baking Bertha?"
Jack grinned. "I have my ways."
Somehow, Daniel wasn't sure he really wanted to know. Yet, he knew he would find out the hard way.
And he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
